Seeing as I didnt test last night I thought I would give it one now -

Ph - 7.8
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 20

Really??!!! Well if I could that would be great!

There may be a surprise for you all later on....watch this space....Anguilla82 knows!

Well the surprise is..............
There will be a tank no2 tomorrow!

Anguilla82 spotted a tank & contents for sale about 5 miles from me....for £80!

That £80 is getting me -
another D-D 24g Nano (not modded)
15kg Live rock & sand
Tons of mushrooms of various colours including some lovely blue stripey ones!
Pair of Percula Clowns
1 Orchid Dottyback
1 Bangaii Cardinal...massive one!
2 red leg hermits
2 snails of some description
1 Cleaner Shrimp

AND....

The catch........

Half a ton of algae...I reckon about 15kg worth...

The guy who is selling has been on holiday for a while and his neighbour has been looking after the tank....

Apparently she has been way over feeding.....it looks like it!

So tomorrow I will be off to pick it all up!

I will get a pic before it is moved tomorrow so you can see how bad the algae actually is!

It will be going in the spare room on the floor to start with as it has no stand...whether it becomes a permanent fixture elsewhere in the house at a later date is still to be decided!

The boyfriend keeps saying things like..."I can get this and that...." So a real turn around from the we arent having any more tanks!

quick question....

As I am bringing ALL the water for the tank do I need to acclimatise the Fish & invert etc to put them back in the tank?

I was kind of hoping I could get the tank back and set up...bring it up to temp (wouldnt take long in these temps!) and then float the stock and release rather than drip acclimatising for a couple of hours?

What are your thoughts?

They should be fine to go straight back in imo. 5miles is nothing. Shouldnt be out the tank too long if you work quickly. Ive taken all my fish out and re-scaped caught ones to return to store etc then put them straight back in. They must have been out an hour and they were ok.

Yep agree with Tina about tank 1 - time for a big water change :good:

Tank 2 - what a find, well done Rob and well done Tina for grabbing the bargain

Are you going to have one each?

Will you choose the best fish and put it in your tank?

Will you choose the best corals and do likewise

What a great find and a great project all in one go :good:

Also agree with Ben, fish should be fine, keeping the stress to a minimum and get them straight back in

Well, it is Sunday and a lovely Sunday at that hic

Lol and what are we all doing on this lovely sunday...................................either knee deep in saltwater or on this forum

Mind you Mr Trod has just been shopping and come back with a nice bottle of wine which is being poured at this moment

I do have the open and keep going outside, to put washing out for holiday though, can't drink - morphine! Gawd knows what to do on holiday, may have to be virgin marys as they are not fizzy either.

Nice acquisitio, looking forward to piccies :good:

Well tank is all moved and fish are back in...I am at my friends BBQ now though so no pics till later!
I tried to get as much algae off as I put the rocks back....it still looks horendous now though!
I will get a pic up later and the sludge should have setlled by then too!

Off to have some burgers!
