Hi,

Did any of you watch this latest franchise of the show? I can't believe what they did to Data. I mean, this character, was supposed to live forever which has been a narative for the entire Star Trek TNG franchise, except for the destruction in one of the films. I suspect Lore will be back, though the cast of TNG are wearing thin. Must have been great for those guys carer wise, you do like 9 years worth of shows then live of fantastic royalties for the reest of your life and all you have to do is show up at these conventions every now and then.

Data is probably older coz he got attacked by aliens in Independence Day.

Not sure if you know this but Patrick Stewart (Picard) is a hugely respected Shakespearean stage actor.

he also plays a whacked out drug addict CIA boss in American Dad :)

Yes know he was into Shakespeare, I seen one or two films, but I just don't get this ending to Data, they haven't respected the plot line of this charming man with a child-like sense of curiosity. Also, obviously it wasn't even Data, it was memory of him. You see they did this with the end of ST Voyager too, Janeway was a captain who stuck to her guns on protocol etc but then we are lead to magically believe she has changed her mind when she broke rules to get the crew home. It was nice to see in the show references to past characters who were human but wer to become Borg. Echeb and Hugh.

As for growing old, Jeri Ryan, seeing her was a surprise and I remembere what she looked like 20 years ago in Voyager in that skin tight suit which I found surprised they let her wearin a kids show, Phwoooor! Mind you, she'd be a cougar to me.

You should visit this place, when legal to of course. I been there, nice. But although Shakespeare was a person, he wasn't a write was he, it was supposed to have been impossible to write as much as he did using a quill I was told?

And did you notice how much Data had aged

You see that to me is so way off the plot-line too,and its kinda stupid because Data didn't want to die of old age either, he just wanted to be human and have mortality. We don't all die old. We all have accident here and there and die in our childhood, teens adulthood at various stages, Data most certainly died in the film where he sacrificed his life to save others and that come to think of it is another stupid plot problem, Picard himself said in that film how Data was human in his self sacrifice. Why then did he want to prat about programing his simulated life after death memory to make him go into old age???? Absolute nonsense! To a serious fan whose see every episode of ST TOS, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise, even the dribble on that other show Enterprise, this is just a shambles.

Rant over but aren't you guys feeling robbed of a proper plot-line?

I am a Star Trek fan all the way back to when Star Trek TOS came out and have all the series TOS, DS9,Star Trek NG, Enterprise, Voyager and Discovery on DVD/Blue Ray but have not watched this one. I heard it was good so I may buy season 1 when it comes out on Blue Ray . I am also into Star Wars
