they go into tanks where people might keep both aquatic and land animals, frogs for example. The tanks don't get filled up all the way so they are planted out of water. Maybe at the edge of ponds or something too. The vallis grass you got might not do too well either, it can get quite long, but its quite cheap and cheerful, grows like mad in my tanks, 5 foot long in places.

Anubias nana would go well if attached to your wood, might be worth a look at, easy to grow and very low demands on light etc.

I don't know. I've sent emails to the main office of Petco to try to get them to at least label them more accurately. But no action so far. Researching ahead of time is the best defense!

lol Brown patch behind the heater and again at the bottom left at the front of the glass. I had all the janitors (15 bee shrimp and apple snail) out of the tank for a while and it became unbalanced

Hi again guys! Would love some opinons as just changed mine to sand a few days ago for the sake of my Corys and pleco, they all LOVE IT! So glad I made the change!My algae eating shrimp seem to be enjoying being at the bottom more now also.Looks nicer in my opinion too!?

Though I hope I'm mistaken in saying that the plant at the bottom left (green and white) may not be aquatic and could start to rot in time.

Don't worry, definatley aquatic got it from my lfs, although honestly ive forgotten the name of the plant. But I've got two of them and they seem to be growing well, had them for a few months now.

Thanks im glad, I've been trying to make its look natural. Such as change from when I first set up this tank it was gravel, ornaments and a mixture of live and artificial plants!

I really like where you are headed with the plants and the shape they create. I would love to see a solid background for comparison. I have a picture background and a solid black for my 75g and I always fight myself over which one to use. {Since I'm never decided on my own tank, feel free to ignore that remark } I read somewhere recently that mixing rock or wood colors can take away from how natural the scape looks. I think yours looks natural now, but the black rock in the front might not. Hope you don't mind the thoughts.

I chose the wooded background to give more of a 3D effect. The picture really doesnt do it justice unfortunately. I may need to post a video of it.
