what's the mpg like on that thing?

mpg is what exactly? miles per gallon is all I can think it stands for?? We do km's per litre here.

Tell me if thats what it means then I will tell you about the km's per lt after I ask my hubby.

You think we would use that here in the UK since almost everything is metric nowadays. Even though I have a fish tank, I still haven't got the foggiest about gallons etc :S

We use km's and litres in Australia too. I wouldnt know how to convert either.

Dave do you like your lancer?

I just sold my 2006 model to my MIL and brought a Mitsubishi Outlander brand new model.

My husband is a Mitsubishi mechanic! And I know their cars are top notch cars and I would never go back to any other brand now.

Rhiannon

To get mpg (U.S. gallons), just take this number (235.1963284) and divide the litres per 100km raw number into it. That will give you the mpg. So, their Uplander is getting about 29mpg on country cruising (8L/100km), which is above average for that small car.

Just a note: those automobile digital instant fuel economy readouts are usually not accurate for any car, as they use a DC power source which varies with electrical demands; they may have a digital readout, but in many cases it's an analog feed. They are, however, wonderful for checking on your driving habits.

For imperial gallons, divide the litres per 100km raw number into 282.4810532. This brings it up to 35miles per imperial gallon, which makes sense...it's bigger than our U.S. gallon.

Cheers, N-A
