Setting Up The 29g. Totally Psyched I Have Saltwater In My Living Room

you know the little gaurd that goes over the koralia? i would take it off as they slow the flow down loads!! the fish will be fine... well saying that mine have been

My skimmer is bubbling great now....but it's still noisy. :/ It sounds like it's slurping air....if that makes any sense ???? I'll do another video in a little bit.

Notes to keep handy (so I'm posting them here)

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2009-03/nftt/index.php

Salinity 1.025-1.026 sg
Calcium 400-480ppm
Alkalinity 8-10dkh
pH a low of 8.0 and a high of 8.5 this will vary during the day but at peak lighting you want it no higher than 8.5 or overnight, no lower than 8.0.
Magnesium 1350 - 1450 ppm
Nitrates 0-20ppm (Fish only tanks can be a little higher and SPS should be as low as possible. Mixed tanks are just fine in this range)
Nitrites 0 (If you have nitrites you have a problem)
Ammonia 0 (If you have any ammonia you have a problem)
Phosphate .03 -.08 ppm (Lower in SPS tanks and a bit higher is fine in mixed but anything higher than .08 may lead to algae problems)

Guys!!! My bulbs don't fit my fixture :(

Is this ok or should I try some different bulbs? They only overlap by a tiny bit. Jed doesn't think the bracket things can be moved. What do you think??? Any ideas, tips, or opinions welcome. They are the same wattages as the original bulbs.

Here are the lights:

They only overlap by a tiny bit...maybe I can angle the plug in part??

They are even a bit bigger in diameter than the originals:

What do you think? Any advice?

what bulbs are you using? you may have gotten T8s rather than T5s which i find to be rather unlikely since you said the watts are the same.

EDIT: right i just realised those are PLs? hmm can't help you there

Would you please remove the tubes and let me have a look at the internal of the canopy properly
Regards
C

Not sure what you needed exactly, BigC so here's about 10 photos. Here's the inside of the ballast/canopy...or whatever it's called.

I took pics of these the other day b/c I thought it was totally cool how the ammonia drops gelled when it hit the saltwater:
