Right, I Seriously Need Your Help!

Ah ok.
Ah, so im after the "ReefSafe" fish?
that right?
I would only want Hard Corals tbh.
Do all corals require hard lighting?

Thats right.. Reef Safe.

Im not sure what you mean by Hard Ligthing (MH?). Some corals can do with less than others.

To be honest you could find a lot of this out by doing some more research on your own. Check out the pinned topics at the top of the forum first and have a bit of a Google.

I would go with the SCWD for now seeing as you already have a canister filter to move water around. It may not be enough but I would certainly use it as a starting point.

I dont already have a cannister filter, I just thought that was the only way.
And im going to good old County Claire, my family own a big hotel over there
"Spanish Armarda"
- The family name is the Lynchs and the Burkes.

LOL Your family own a big hotel and your only gonna spend £300 smackerooneys on your tank.
Ah your away down below Galway my old chum, which is just a wee bit far to travel, me being on the Armagh/Antrim border

Pity that as your more than welcome to drop by. We used to live West Yorkshire my wife's home county but we moved back to Northern Ireland to look after my aged parents.
If you do manage to get up this way drop me a PM.
My sons are about your age, ones a DJ and the others a chef so you'd have a great time I'm sure

I was going to move over there, still debating it.
They own Hotel Doolin aswell in clare aswell.
So because I dont already have a cannister filter,
what should I do?
Just use powerheads?
I like the ones that look like the fake one you have in the middle of your tank.

Like the Hydor Koralia ones.

I would have recommended that pump as it's bloomin excellent but its a Tunze and a controllable one at that (6055)
So with the controller and the rock you'd be looking at around about £200. So you kinda get what you pay for if you see what I mean.
There's soo much you can do with it. Pulse, Surge for waveflow motion etc.
I would just go with powerheads if you don't already have a canister.
Korallia or the likes will be fine.
Having a good flow is excellent in reef aquariums, the more the better.

So do you think 2 Korallia powerheads on each side of the tank would be good enough?

Nooooo you dont need 4.
One on each side of the aquarium will be adequate, but I would go for the next size up korallia than what is recommended for your size of tank.

No way would I manage one of them though!
Im just wondering if anyone has any recommend starting corals?
so I can do some research on them.
I went in to P@H to see if they had a book on corals.
It had sold out.
I will keep my eyes open though.

BigC could you go in to abit more detail about the hood,
and how I would do this

Take a picture of your existing hood inside and out so as I can devise or suggest something
