Could the pincers be purple on that hermit as in very dark purple?

The other thing could it be a stomtella a snail with a very small shell almost slug like?

Just had a look at the stomatella on google......I dont think that it is one of those, it seems to be alot more spread out.

I'll try and get another photo of the crab as they are settling down now and they seem to be alot more livly and eatting constantly.

They are funny/amazing to watch, they must be really strong to lug that shell up steep rock face and not even struggle??

I do enjoy just the hermits lol

Dont think its a flat worm, had a chat with the LFS man and he says that he has a few in his tank and that they are harmless to corals or fish, He did tell me the name of them but......i forgot?

MAJOR Update!

Went out on sunday to the LFS and spent £52 , this missus wasn't best please.....but it aint her money so....meh lol

Bought myself two juvi clowns 2 for £26 not to bad a price? 1 cleaner shrimp and some marine flakes.

No pictures as of yet as I'm letting the little guys get used to their surrounds before putting on the big lights and trying to take pictures :)

Wooo

Thanks Richy555.

Right guys, what do you think my options are on stocking, obviously i know what fish are not suitable but some Im not sure on?

Flasher wrasse?
Yellow Watchman Goby?
Coral Beauty?
Hawkfish?
Bicolour blenny?

I know that I probably wouldn't be able to fit all these 4 fish in ther but are these all suitable for my tanks?

When I know if they are I will decide on which ones?

Cheers

Ok. so 20 gallons

I'm thinking you could get away with a flasher wrasse

Certainly a hawkfish (love them) you may lose some snails though (i'm not bothered by that, as I adore them)

Yes, a goby (go for a small one)

Not so sure here, but with good maintance - can also be a bit hit and miss on reef safetyness

Bi colour blenny (Bens favourite) yes, as long as you dont have the goby

So are you thinking - your all over swimming fish: a flasher
jumping about all over the rocks: Hawkfish
and for the bottom the Blenny

add in a nice cleaner shrimp, some snails, and a couple of hermits and you have an interesting tank, just remember you will have to be very good with maintanance, which I am sure you will be :good:

Thanks seffie,

I am curently stocking 1 cleaner shrimp and two clowns plus 5 hermits so at the moment the tank is very interesting indeed. only problem is that I cant seem to get a decent picture of the clowns, although Im guessing they wont be darting accross the tank as much once they have settles down abit.

Quick question - I put some flakes in the tank last night however they had a little nibble but did not eat hardly any of it, the fella at the LFS showed me them eatting some flake......Should I be worried or do you not have to feed clowns that oftern?

I also have blood worms that i'll try tonight.

Cheers,

Reesy

My clown barely eats flake at best, I feed him Mysis and Brineshrimp with omega3 which he wolfs down, I personaly would not feed bloodworm to my marines but I know others do

Well i've got brine aswell, but its the brine that comes in like a nutritious jelly and comes outta a packet? They'd still eat that tho right?

hi.
one thing wit brine is that it doesnt have much neutritional value unless you get enriched stuff.

Take a trip to your LFs and pick up a few gamma blister packs of various frozen food. Feed them a varied diet of these. Be careful though as frozen foods contain phosphates. So they need to be de-frosted and rinsed before putting them into your tank

Cheers Ben,

Due to a financial cash flow problem (boss not giving me shifts!!) I am a little light on money (£30 to last me a month!)

So for the time being is it possible to get away with brine bloody worms and marine flakes?

Cheers,

Reesy

Good news.

After a massive flop on monday with the marine flakes I tried the other food I had (Brine shrimp in a nutritious jelly) and it really was a pleasure to watch.

They absolutly loved it, the hermits wer out picking up the scraps and the cleaner shrimp was out trying to grab himself some! It was magical!

Cheers,

Reesy

When you are in the money again, buy yourself a vitamin spray, like the one new era do - that will help give some nutritional value to brine shrimp - but as Our Ben said, get yourself to the frozen section and buy some mysis etc (tell your Boss to give you some work, or you will send the 'salties' round!!! :p

Haha i wish it was that simple with him, might be legal action taken

Going to have to buy my own fridge tho methinks my mother is not a fish love and probably couldn't understand the importance of have frozen dead brine shrimp and mysis lol

Not the most understanding women in the world.

Also took some great picture last night but forgot to put them on meh USB so gunna try and get them up later today at some point, for all those picture lovers out there.

Cheers,

Reesy
