Ohhh wow! Will you be near the ocean?

Yup! We will live right on the coast. And we will actually live in town for a change - every place we've lived so far, has been in the middle of nowhere, so this is going to be a very nice change of pace. They also allow homeschoolers to join the sports program there, so I can continue to play basketball.

Living right on the coast isn't all it's cracked up to be. People think it's nice and romantic, live by the sea, walk along the beach every day, etc. Yes that is true to some extent, however when it's windy, the salt and sand blows all over your house and rusts out everything made from metal. When it's stormy, the wind coming off the ocean is horrendous.

If you live a couple of kilometers inland from the coast, then you can still walk to the beach but you don't have to deal with the salt, sand and psychotic winds.

It's really good they let home school children play sports with normal kids. It lets them interact with others their age and helps them socialise and learn to mix with other people.

It was stupid of us to go out that deep in the first place, because of how wild the waves were. It was also crazy windy, which didn't help. Oh well, we know for next time!

Also look for flags that are out. I think in basic terms white is safe yellow is be careful red is be very careful and is recommended you stay out and black is don't go in the water at all

Agreed. In PA, they don't allow homeschoolers to play in public school sports, so I'm kind of glad we didn't move there.

That is really dumb. If kids want to play sport with other kids, they should be allowed to do so regardless of if they are home schooled or in the public education system.

Thanks! I was originally going to move to PA, but that job fell through. I'm kind of glad it did though, because SC looks awesome.
