OK last update for a while (or a day
) I.....oops, I mean we (better involve the missus) are due at the hospital for C-section in 5 hours.
The Maculatus are behaving themselves now they are moving together, sticking with each other and much less like ditzy shrimp
The Corys laid eggs on Thursday however they turned out to be Duds. Have to give them some lessons me thinks.
Funny thing is the first few days the Boraras were doing my head in. After a couple of days the Corys were centre of attention. Not because they were getting frisky but just that they seem to be really really happy in this scape. They were happy in their previous scapes too however this one seems to have made them much less shy and they are out and about a lot more. (may just be its summer and the 4 and 5 year old are outside rather than jumping on the floor. lol)
So the above has meant that I pretty much ignore the Bororas because I'm glued to my lovely black velvet Corys
The count is most definately 16 or is it 17. lol Hard to count these fish.
On another note, my selfish missus decided that the 'emersed' cupboard was needed for storing such useless things as pushchairs and hiding away a dining table that she doesn't want in the kitchen. Couldn't find my knuckle duster so I just agreed.
The 23 litre tank is now up off the ground, the emersed shelving removed, the dining table in it's place.
Why am I detailing this? Well removing this 'facility left me with the 2 x 18W T8s on electronic ballasts so I have rigged one up behind the tank, just below the substrate level shining up. Gives a nice glow through the frosted backing sheet I put on the tank but not decided which colour light I like yet. Will post up pics in a day or 2.
I'm also going to see what these Boraras look like under some pink light. Just to see if they look like other pictures. I love pure white light and I love the natural colouration but would be nice to see what they look like 'enhanced'.
Little known fact I read earlier about the origin of the name Boraras. It is Ras Bora backwards. i.e. BoraRas. lol
You probs already knew that but made me chuckle.
Right gonna get a few hours sleep. Draining day tomorrow what with expending energy 'feigning ' sympathy whilst only having eyes for a new girl (or boy....Ooh err)
Must remember to take the Sunnies to hide the 'tears of pride'
