I like NF. A few of his songs are dark but a lot are really good.
I like most all. I think the darkest song I like by him is Therapy Session. In fact I think that is his darkest one but I could be wrong...

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. Philippians 4:8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5, 6

From the greatest source there is!

Revelations 21:4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
My personal favorite scripture!!

For those who can't even get a meal in and starve. For those who don't even have a home to go back to.
For those who are going through and have gone through wars...
And people who have to deal with abuse at home...
Sad world were in.

I tried to add another tune to my post above and it looked like the edit took, but nope

Motivation can vary with the context, as Gary pointed out. I tend to value patience and tenacity in all situations (that's the main reason I like Badgers so much). Here are a few words from some personal heroes that seem to come up again and again in different areas of life:

The best camouflage pattern is called "sit down and be quiet." --Fred Bear
Difficulties are just things to overcome, after all. --Earnest Shackleton
We're measured by our moments. --Coleen Wilson
Be alert. Keep calm. Think clearly. Act decisively. --USFS General Fire Fighting Order #6
Embrace the suck. --Lots of military people and endurance athletes

Also, don't be Debbie Downer.

Revelations is sad as a piece of writing. The planet I live on and the other creatures all around me inspire me more than anything a human could say. It's a great world. Don't wish for its end - enjoy its process and what you get to experience of it! It is a motivating place if you never lose your curiosity. It's something we should save and improve, here and now.
I like the Philippians one though - words to look at an aquarium with.

I know Revelations "scares" or "depresses" a lot of people. It is an apocalypse book so I can understand. If you have your heart right you don't have to worry though. We were not to open it up until the times were fitting, but the way our world is now... With all of the things going on I wonder how long we will last. I don't wish for the end and I hope the Lord will keep me here for many more years. When I am here I hope to make a difference. When it comes down to it and my time is over I will be excited about a new body.

Philippians is a good book. :)
