This is an interesting subculture to see popping up. Other than that I sold one of the first Batman comics to... buy a bag of potato chips when I was 11, I have no comics connections.

I had a thing about classics illustrated, as they showed good swordfights.

Classics Illustrated were the CliffsNotes of many a high school students and still to this day should be mandatory reading for all new citizens and people seeking to raise their literacy level of all types of literature. The next time you go to a party read 6 of them and bewilder everyone with your knowledge of history and literature.
