Plant Donations

Again, i will reiterate, this is a donations thread, so, it is for donations or swaps. If things are offered and not sent for reasons, please let the other party know! If this keeps carrying on, i will be forced to close this thread.

Yeah, maybe we could have separate threads for US swaps/donations and UK swaps/donations. Might help a little??

I think I must have really bad luck. Had some hornwort sent that never arrived, and I do believe it was mailed, but it's been almost 2 weeks, so negative feedback for USPS. But what else is new, right?

Also had someone say they'd send java moss. Gave address and waited for shipping costs. Person is still posting on the boards, but never got back to me with the price even though I sent a couple of reminder PMs.

Seems almost everything posted is in the UK, so I give up.

I'll try sending some more when I get a chance :) I'll let you know when I do. Not sure what happened with the first one. All I can guess is that maybe it had too much water and it leaked so they tossed it out. Dunno.

Offered: 3 stems of Hygrophilia corymbosa var. angustifolia (the 3 on the right in the picture below, the 4 on the left are going to SchottayB as he requested them in my journal).
Postage: £1 or swap for a couple of crypts, or some star grass or some other kind of stem, depends what you got! ;) :p

EDIT: not sure why it's sideways, it's not on photobucket... anyways, it's the bottom 3! lol

Wish you were in the states, those are beautiful!!

Thanks, Gearhead.

Seems since you paid postage they'd have to at least send a note telling what happened.

I agree, separate UK/US threads would be helpful!

Had the same problem with the java moss. Still wondering and waiting! I keep seeing all this great stuff being listed as available, but being in the U.S. of A. does pose its problems.
huh.gif

I wonder if it was the same person. Noticed any increase in junk mail?

We arent going to clog the stickys with two threads. I have asked that people note where they are from when offering donations.

no probs, Cazzie. I'm glad people have benefited from this thread. Just remember guys this is all done through trust, maybe we knew that people would come in this thread and either abuse it or not come up with the goods. I still remain that you/we should pick who we send our donations to. I don't want to sound elitist, but i wanted the donations to stay within the planted section.

Good point Ian, I think you should make it ppl with 100 posts or more as after youbpost that many times your not really gonna leave the forum.

P.S my Anubias is in the UK :)

The person I waited and waited on a shipping quote from has 1984 posts. She hasn't left the boards, but she's left this one and left me hanging. A higher number of posts doesn't make someone more honest. JMO

Also think the same, post count wont help (it might a little). Just need more honest people!

Cazzie is honest :p

I arranged with a member from here to swap some Vallis...

The post count is to stop people abusing the service, not to see who is the most 'trust worthy'. Again, as stated, i think we need to be a little more selective to who we send plants out to. Now, it's totally up to you lot, who, how and when you send. But i know personally, i will only send out plants to those who participate in the planted section on a regular basis. These are people 'personally' i feel most trustworthy.

please don't turn this thread into a place where we complain about other members. I shall be cutting these posts out tomorrow.
