Phew, right just added that lot to order.
Thank you BigC you are brilliant :good:

Truck, don't want to go down the pipe route again, tried it twice and got flooded kitchen on both occasions

Just got to get it all connected up now, I'm sure more questions will follow

As if the 'old man' really believed you about the pond water

Seffie x

:fish:

 Well I thought it sounded good

Got a link to the unit you've purchased Trod
So as I can see what we're looking at.

Thanks from me as well Big C, I have just ordered the parts for my RO unit I just purchased.
No probs guys only too glad to help.

Off to purchase shares in RO-Man LOL

Here it is from RO man
Exactly the same as mine only difference is the DI unit (blue module) on top.
When you get it rigged
"Y" Connector screws onto the washing machine cold tap (use PTFE tape supplied) The Tap connector screws onto one side of the "Y" connector and your washing machine cold fill pipe to the other side.
Red pipe (mains water) fits into the Tap connector and goes directly to the RO unit (IN) Before you attach this though add a little ball valve inline so as you can turn the system off. Also add a Ball Valve to the Blue Pipe (Usable RO)
I direct the waste water pipe (green) into the washing machines waste pipe.
Does that make sence
Regards
BigC

Tip!
One last little tip, purchase a streamline 100ltrs rainwater butt and stand, dont forget the stand as you can place your mixing bucket under the tap when the barrel is raised.
Ideal for RO storage, just drill a 6mm hole in the lid and slot the blue pipe through it. I have mine in the Garage.

Finally, I have left mine running once or twice (gone off and forgot about it) end result Flooded Garage. Not a big deal to an aquarist but to put it mildly the Missus wasn't impressed.
So always remember to turn the ball valve off.

Great, will follow instructions :good:
Just got e mail from RO man saying they are out of stock  got to wait, oh well getting good at waiting, everytime I walk past sheets and table clothes in dining room :fun: 2 weeks and 2 days, not that I'm counting!!!!!

Will have to pass on water butt though, washing machine is in my hall, under stairs. RO unit will be tucked away next to it, I will be keeping water in 25l water containers :good:

Howdy,

I have been following this thread for a while now after deciding to take the plunge into Nano tanks. I have at present a biorb with a marine conversion kit. I really wanted to see if the blurb was true and that the tank would support marine life. Whilst the tank has supported life (probably due to the large amount of live rock that I added), I'm not sure of the quality of that life. Time to end the experiment.

I have just purchased a Interpet River Reef 50, although I know that Seffie will tell me that I should have gone for the Orca 550. But I live in a pokey flat and could use a little room for the humans. I will be adding the RO water this avo and will mix the salt in the tank. Once that has mixed I will then add about 10 kilos of live rock, probably in two days. I have some live rock from my biorb - would it be possible to add this also? I am going to take out the filter medium and add live rock rubble and rowa phos. Eventually I would like to add some chaeto.

This may sound like a silly question, but how should you move fish and inverts from one tank into another. The distance in the room is minimal but it feels like a mile. I want to get it right so that they are as calm as possible.

I can't wait to get it to the standard of some of the guys on this thread - exciting times to come...
