Trod, you know he is watching this thread like a hawk for the moment you mention RO unit with DI.

When you post that picture with 0 TDS, he will be jumping in and saying I told you so!!

Must say there is one in the lfs I have my eye on, as soon as other half gets bored with lugging the water about it is mine

Shhhhhhhh gather round, don't let BigC hear :ninja:

I've just bought new 75GPD RO unit with, yes, you guessed it a DI unit.

Well in my defense I'm going to need one when I set up my new tank

 but whats your water pressure? as this is detrimantal to production of RO as you wont get 75GPD if you have low water pressure (you probably know this
I've convinced the old man that RO water would be better for him to use in his pond

Yes I realise I probably won't get anywhere near 75GPD, but shouldn't need to as long as I can get enough to cover weekly water changes for the 2 tanks :good: oh and the old mans pond, of course

Tds meter next on list TigerIssey

tastes nasty when its been through DI iirc, tried normal RO too. That wasnt so bad.

Dont think his fresh water fish will like the RO though, they actually need some elements found in water.

You can get a booster pump to (you guessed it ) boost the pressure to the RO unit.
RO-MAN sell inline TDS meters which will show you the TDS going in and comming out.
I got mine from

OH gawd  I don't know anything about them, just thought it would be better for them. off I go to research, Cheers Ben :good:

You cant use neat RO water for freshwter fish, Dont use it without treating with RO Right or something similar
Personally I wouldn't bother and admit your mistake.

well my mate who has freshies asked my LFS trod, he said that marines get everything they need from the salt we use as most brands contain all the elements they need but to use RO for FW you need to add stuff. He said it wasnt worth it over tap water.
Im not 100% on it, but he knows his stuff.
