Operation Marine 2.........now 3

Oh I'm really sorry to hear about the Copperband, I know how much he meant to you.

Enjoy your trip :good:

He was like a little puppy, whenever I came into the dining room he'd shoot to the front of the tank go up and down like an excited puppy would, i could even hand feed him. It's actually my first fish or invert death since starting marine not including a MIA fire fish in my old 180,mor the countless snails killed by my monster hermit.

Just went out in dining room and turned the light on, looked at the tank and in front of me was a big crab that I have not introduced! Red eyes and a freeny colour big claws!

Triedto fish it out but it was in an awkward place and dug itself into the sand under a rock.

Also just spoken to my wife and asked if she's seen our yellow watchman in last few days..............no was her reply

I have spent 45mins looking for him in usualmhidy holes and can't see any tracebof him. I did see a Nass shell right whernthe crab dug in wasn't there when the crab dug in last night.

It's not unusual form him to go Mia for a few days though but I got a bad feeling

I will set a trap tomorrow but I go away on weds afternoon so not that long to catch the #28###. Otherwise I'll have to leave it until I get back

Didn't get time to set a trap so it will have to wait until I return from Vegas.

Instructions have been printed off and pinned to the notice board for kids (22, 19 & 15) to do the basics, feeding topping up and checking skimmer cup. I am doing a water change right before we leave tomorrow afternoon so tank will be fine for that until we return.....still kinda nervous though

Our watchman is definitely no longer with us as I still cannot find him and not coming out to feed

Instructions have been made very simple one cube of frozen a day Small pinch of flake later in evening but not to panic if forget a couple days.

Top offs are easy tank runs at the red max water line juwels have on the right side panel. Just told them to not let water go below the beech trim and what container to use etc. All printed out aswell lol.

Arrived home from holiday yesterday and apart from needing it's daily top up, front glass needing cleaning and skimmer needing a clean tank inmates are fine. Got a touch of cyno it seems on some rock but i put that down to the skimmer not running at it's most efficient as I didn't want the kids to mess around with it apart from emptying the cup if needed. Cleaned it as soon as I got in and the glass too.

Going to get a new pump and place my deltec fr509 in the tank in a corner on an egg crate platform and get the NP biopellet running. Won't look pretty but ita function over form in this case.

Yup then spent it

No time to concentrate on this tank. Going to get the NP pellets going. Although teat kit still showing high nitrates everything looking great apart from small bit of cyno vie never been able to shift and some new stuff. The new stuff is due to e skimmer not working at well whilst i was away so expect that to go again.
