I'm going with the Pseudocorynactis sp. I'm at a bit of a loss as to which type though, very hard to find info on.

Good find Victor :good:

Oh gawd just googled giant palythoa and now I'm not so sure

I have just searched for Pseudocorynactis aswell and I think it could well be, although I can not find an image of any that are the same colour. My wife picked them, she seems to have a better eye than me when it comes to choosing things for the tank.

Thanks
VM

Sorry, been busy instructing the other half on a gooseberry crumble.

The reason I asked for the pic was to see the tips. The pic I have in THE BOOK, has small bobbles on the ends of the tips where as giant palythoas don't, the colouring seems to better fit the palythoas too but as you both say, a bit like flipping a coin.

May have to wait for Ski, I am sure he has some giant paly's in that colour or similar, he may be able to rule them in or out.

please excuse my language..

but holy #### that is unbelievable!

I'm actually going with neither there VM. Giant Palythoa do NOT come in that color pattern and do not have the really raised/pronounced mouth as yours do. Also they're not Pseudocorynactis at all, different size/shape there. I do NOT know the scientific name but everyone I've talked to in the hobby that has had them has casually referred to them as a type of rock anemone.

Aquarist beware though VM, they multiply FAST, like mojano fast, and are very aggressive. Everybody I know in my club to ever aquire them has tried to remove them from their tank in short order. Hate to be the bearer or bad news :(

Wow VM, something so beautiful can be so damaging.

I knew Ski would have an answer, but never thought it would be that one.

Seems a bit of a downer, what will you do now??
