No Going Back Now.

I would sump them till I knew what to do with them and contact the seller, you don't have a sump though do you.

What did the seller say about them when you bought them??

Seems as if its like someone selling you glass rose anemones and thinking they are beautiful till you find out they are a pest and need eradicating.

One thing is certain though, I would be very careful about what I bought now, make sure I knew everything about a potential purchase before parting with any money.

Well VM, if you like the look of them the good news is they're much less hardy than Aiptasia/Mojano. If you hit them with Joes Juice, Kalkwasser, AiptasiaX, etc they usually do not come back.

Sadly they're often mis-labeled and sold as corals when they're clearly an anemone species. If you ask me, a lot of distributors konw this but still sell them anyways.

EEEEEEK how can something so beautiful be so nasty. I have just seen that they can attack fish too

No wonder we were all so confused. Nice one Ski :good:

I think I would get rid Victor, then go and have a word with the LFS!!!!!

attack fish :-( what the hell have I brought here, gutted, will these things move around the tank then? if they just spread like coral and are easy to kill I could try keeping them and containing them on one rock, would that be possible?

Wow, have just sat & read through the thread from start to finish & your tank is just beautiful, the stand I think is the best looking tank stand I've seen.

Hope you have some thick gloves for that new fella, what will you do with it?

Hi karigupi, thanks. I do wear gloves sometimes, I guess i should do a lot more really. I do not really see any real problems, the chances of them doing any harm to me are very minimal, i suppose anything we put in our tanks as potential to harm, people have all sorts of allegies, bee stings or nuts for example, you would have to be very unlucky to be done in by mushrooms

I am still undecided as to what to do with them, on that site Trod found it says they are passive and reef safe but then again I am not 100% its the same thing. I might just keep a close eye on them for now.

Thanks
VM

Mercifully the rock anemones don't walk much like their larger bretheren. So you CAN try and keep them VM. Just don't put prized corals near them :)
