No Going Back Now.

fingerfrags1.jpg

Here is a pic to show how i managed to grow the fingers that split and dropped off the soft leather finger coral. I first tried to wedge them in empty snail shells but it did'nt really work out so i took some rubble from my fluval filter and placed each frag between two pieces and secured them with elastic bands, i think they have attached already but i will leave it another week before i remove the bands. I now have 3 of these with another 2 or 3 about to drop off, i have no idea what i will do with them all yet.

Hi all

Jenny i will be getting a blenny at some stage, is it possible to have both of the fish you mentioned or do they do better on thier own?

Thanks
VM
I would say no VM. Starry blennies can take umbridge to other blenny shaped fish as they get older and turn into grumpy old men - hey you need one then  You could call it Victor!

In a tank of your length it might be possible but you'd have to keep a close eye on them for any aggression and have a 'plan B'. I'd not want to risk it in my tank. The starry is the biggest I'd risk and I think the bicolours get a bit bigger still.

I've really enjoyed reading this journal, you've got a great tank there Victor, how much was the clearseal? I want to move my coldwater marines if possible and I want to do it as cheaply as possible considering the price of chillers!

Hi all

So its just the one Blenny then Jenny, cheers mate :good:

AJ, i can not really remember what i paid for the tank, i think i may have mentioned the price earlier in the thread, but off the top of my head i think it was £320, thats just the tank, no hood, no stand, hope this helps you out. (sorry, can not remember if this price included delivery from shop or not)

Thanks
VM

i really enjoyed reading through this
good job!
i really will have to keep away otherwise i may be tempted to set up a marine again.

Hi all

I have just read through the last few posts on here and i am over the moon with all of the comments, thanks everyone, i just wish i had read them before my wife and i decided to completely rescape the tank, the rocks are now in three seperate islands and i am really not sure we have done the right thing, my wife really likes it, but i am not so sure. I will post a pic the new look later and would welcome your opinions as always. I have also got a new coral and its...wait for it....its a LPS frogspawn coral, buying this coral is a huge risk as i only have T8 lighting at the moment but its opened up already i am i pretty sure i will be ok here, its placed high on the rock close to the light so fingers crossed. Here is a photo of it but the quality really does not do it justice, but those of you who have already got one will know how stunning they are in the tank.

I have done a water change today and although is does not look like it from the pic, the green hair algea is slowly getting under control, thats the worst of it on that rock now.

Thanks
VM

Lookin good VM. If you really want that frogspawn to grow fast, spot feed it :)
