If you want a JD I'd say that's all for that tank, they can and most likely will fight and kill anything you put in with it.

If it were my tank I'd go for a group, say 5 or 6, Eartheaters. I've seen a few around and even as Juveniles they look really nice.

Geophagus Surinamensis, Satanoperca Jurupari and Geophagus Steindachneri are just a few that are quite common. With a nice Plec I think that would make for a really nice tank.

I would say you could keep a pair of JDs in that tank ...

What other fish did you have in mind ?

What kind of filtration do you have on the tank?

Even though alot of people probably wont agree with me ... not many people seem to Lol .. I cant see many problems with that stocking provided that they are all small when put into the tank and you have LOTS of caves, rocks, wood etc etc ....

Ditching the green terror might be a good idea since they can be very aggressive at times but it depends on the fishes personality.

I agree that this stocking while possibly being a battle royal waiting to happen could work for a year or two with many hiding places in a tank. Once they get bigger though, all bets are off. Even if they are used to eachother and grown up since they were young, the fish are instinctively enemies and could snap and attack a tank mate at anytime. Especially the JD and GT. The firemouth and convict would be more spectators but could be the focus of tag team aggression from the JD and GT. Like Joel said, it all depends on the personality of the fish.....
