New 55 gallon journal

My wife also said while I was at work yesterday one of the zebras (I’m guessing the male) circling around the other one , I feel like they are too young for breeding correct? They’re maybe a little over 2”

electric yellow and an elongate Mbuna.
The elongates kinda small so I’m a little worried. The lfs said if he’s getting to beat up bring him back to swap him out for a different one.

Nice looking fish. The Pseudotropheus elongatus are really aggressive as adults. He will kick the electric yellow’s butt someday.

I am very curious to see how your tank develops. I am about eight weeks behind you. I ordered pool filter sand, which won’t arrive until the middle of the month. And then I will start to build out my 60 gallon tank. It will have African Cichlids. Not certain if it will be west, Central or east African fish. It will depend on what’s in stock at the places I shop. I do know I will have about eight Congo tetras as dither fish and they’re pretty as well.

It’s been a lot of fun , my first tank ( a 36 gallon bow front) I didn’t take the time or have the knowledge to really build it so everyday id just be staring at it not happy. I’ve learned a lot from this forum , and from my own research , so Im happy with how this turned out. I’m excited to see you build yours , make sure to make a journal so we can follow along.

Finally got around to transferring my wife’s tank to the stand (20 gallon). I think they look awesome together.

We had to take a surprise “vacation” to my parents yesterday and we’ll be here for maybe 3 or 4 days. We’re living with My father in law at the moment , and he is sick with Covid and with our almost 2 year old son we don’t wana risk him getting sick.

Now that I can’t keep an eye on them , I’m Kinda stressing since the fish are all new to the also newly established tank , so I hope everyone plays nice. Plus I’m still in the middle of selling my delhezi and she has been getting bullied pretty bad. I’m hoping I don’t go back to her dead. She has a special place in my heart , and she’s worth around $60 so that would make it hurt even more.

Wish my sanity luck

Just ordered the rest of my cichlids. Very excited I’ll go pick them up on Monday. After having to leave for 4 days I came home to my lik baby elongate mbuna no where to be seen. Must of gotten eaten completely bones and all , or they got sucked up in the filter. Anyway , got another bigger one today , and what I think is an electric blue johanni. Picture below is what I have coming !
