New 16Gal. Bowed Front..

Ok well I picked out a larger one because I read that the females might have a white lined fin instead of yellow and this one didnt have a real definite yellow edging. I'm pretty sure he's a male because he's already filled two of the shells and seems to dominate the floor. The others are hiding in the rocks. He also didnt move any of the shells but excavated around one, filled 2 in and the toehrs seem untouched. So there is a group of like 4 shells in the middle, one out to the edge which he buried partially, and 1 big one on the other side of the tank which looks untouched.. I think I'm gonna take back the two bigger ones and get the smallest ones they have.. Good idea? Man i love my LFS :) They're probably getting sick of me tho :/ Thanks for the input guys, I'll keep ya posted..

Whelp with 5, some more shells and splitting the tank up a bit with the rocks, i think everyone is getting along.. They have definitely picked out thier shells/territory. Eating quite well too. I'd like to maybe add another species to this tank.. Any recommendations? I'm also noticing a couple patches of brown algae starting on the sides and back(7 spots). Should I just use an algae scrubber or is there a species that would eat it. It's definitely not enough to sustain any fish so I think I'll just scrub it.. Just wondering what ppls use for algae in african setups.. Thanks! :)

I don't think you have room to add anything else, most Tanganyikan fish enjoy a reasonable amount of space.

I just scrape algae off myself. I think algae eaters are a) not that effective, b)poop much, and c) are ugly. In a little tank like that I wouldn't do it anyway.

I suggest just leaving it alone and enjoying the fish that you have.
