My Switch To Saltwater.

Christ, again? I have to be honest, I dont know what to advise. Do you risk the stress of the transfer, or leave him be and cross your fingers? Beyond my realm of good suggestions

god damn fish !

turned the light off and hes all round the tank again - light on and he swims vertically at it !!

mad clown disease ?

Lol, make sure you dont eat him . Thats an odd one, I've never heard of clowns attracted to light before. Does it eat with the lights off?

would it matter if this one was raised on a rock-star diet too? If so, maybe try slowly switching his diet to one you prefer by adding yours to what he's used to, and then slowly dropping off his? I'm completely shooting from the hip here.

well the little fella made it through the night - which is a bonus.

with the light off, he swims all round the tank and appears to be eating (although I have not witnessed it)

with the light on, he kinda sticks to one corner in his anti-grav swimming stylie.

Added live food again today and will wean him off slowly.

maybe hes got a little bit screwd up and thinks its daytime when its night time

Im getting seriously depressed with this now....

My latest clown was put in the tank on 31-01-2007.

The first day he explored the whole tank and was "normal"

The second day onwards hes been doing his vertical swimming thing and staying in one corner of the tank.

When the lights are off, he swims all round the tank.

I have been turning off the powerheads overnight - as the previous 4 clowns seemed to end up in the intake overnight.

Over the last 5 days he looked OK, just staying in one corner.

Last night I left the powerheads on and this morning - Hes stuck in the intake.

Is it something Im doing wrong here ?

Ive lost 5 of these now and Im really feeling depressed about it.

The tang I added on the same day is loving the tank and is a real character.

this may sound strange, my mate owns my LFS, she can't keep clowns either. she has had similar probs with them, they last a week max. she is 1 of the very few people i know that has kept a copperband with any sucsess so she knows its nothing to do with the water quality. i have bought clown fish from her shop and they are doing great, nothing to do with the suply??? its odd

she has now resigned herself to the fact that she can't have clown fish.

It's strange really...I know when we kept FW tropicals we couldn't keep Guppies alive!!! We had a beautiful tank with everything from tetras to rams and gouramis, but guppies would die within a week

Sometimes you do have to just admit defeat with certain species and move on

Just a quick post to show the progress I made over the last 2 months.
