My New Seashell 60X18X24 Wdh

I have to say your tank is stunning :D :D

Where did you get your pebbles? Do they affect PH?

Thanks

Paul :)

Thanks!

They are just beach pebbles, but since i dont live near a beach, i had to pay for them :/ They were from a local "World of Water" fish shop near me. They have no effect on the PH.

Managed to catch my Kribs tonight and get them into my 90 litre, they are going to be moved on soon. Also moved over two young Bolivian rams to the big tank, so i now have 6 in there. A little concerned about one of them, hes been very darkly coloured for a while now but isnt showing any signs of illness. Just going to keep an eye on him (can actually see in the 1st pic below, bottom left)

Found a Kuhli swimming all over the shop when i got home, seemed to have a dirty great big chunk out of him underneath. Had to wack it on the head. If i had to hazard a guess, it was probably a Krib viewing him as food.

Ripped out half my Vallis, moved some around and put some in the small tank, unsure what to do with it. The 90 litre has become a plant holding tank!

Planted my 50 Sagittaria Subulata and it looks like so:

It looks a little hap hazard at the moment, im hoping the long leaves will rot off and new submersed leaves will grow.

Thinking of ordering lots of Cryptocoryne Becketti to plant between it all, should make quite a nice contrast between the two plant types.

Pondering upgrading the lighting with another two 54W T5's to bring me up to 2WPG, not sure if its a wise move yet though. Any opinions welcome. I got the Co2 and i got the EI dosing so more light should be doable...

Shame about the Kuhli mate... I had to laugh though

Feel free to post the Kribs to me :D Unless you don't post up north either due to us all being C.A.'s!

The Crypts sound like a plan, it just looks a little random atm

Yeah its just peppered all over the shop :D Gonna see what Mike can do for me at Last Trding Post.

One of the problems i've found with playsand is that its very fine and does move around quite a bit in the flow, the crowns of some plants end up buried while others get exposed. Spotted two sag floating around this morning before work and will no doubt find more when i get home! Hope it roots quickly. :|

I would post you the Kribs, but i dont have any heat packs or poly at the moment to line a box. :| Probably just offload them tomorrow at my local MA.

I found that with play sand, hence why i went with Unipac... Bigger grains so it don't get blasted around by the filters flow.

Caz had to disconnect the spraybar on her 1200 as it just moved all the sand to one end of the tank

If you like the Unipac stuff then Senegal is a great colour to go for... I'm considering changing to this. Mine is the Limpopo atm.

I have a question for you about the litter...

I know you used fuller's earth but unfortunately that's not available here in Canada for me.

Just wondering what I should expect when it gets wet? Does it just get the water a little cloudy or what?

I tried one kind and it turned to brown mud when wet I don't think that was right..

Used another and it stayed white and in clumps just made the water a little cloudy but then settled.

(tested in cups)

looking great tizer

love the other tank to :)

i had my new tank from maidenhead aquatics delivered on saturday
they do some rather nice tanks

edit, ah not to worry i found your thread :good:

Must remember to set an alarm or something when i fill the tank back up while doing a water change.....kinda flooded the house while i sat on the computer playing battlefield 3. Oops...Was a good excuse to pull the tank out, tidy up the wires for the lighting and paint the back gloss black :D
