Have you not got another tank to seed your media off? I've usually found cycles take under 2 weeks or less if you seed it with a healthy amount of media.

Well, I tested my water and this cycle is definitely testing my patience!

On the 7th day, the ammonia level seemed to drop a little so I got rather excited. Now, I'm on the 12th day and it seems to be stuck at 2ppm

You never know, I may have some fish in 2012.

Currently this is barely a journal, at the moment it's more of a moan thread where I complain about my cycle and how slow it is. Anyway, guess what; I'm going to complain some more!

I've finally got to the two week mark of my cycle however I'm certainly not where I wanted to be. If all went to plan, I would now be on the second stage of the cycle and waiting for nitrites to be processed within 25 hours. Unfortunately, instead it has taken 14 days for 5ppm of ammonia to be processed!

The level of ammonia is stuck at 2ppm and the cycle is really testing my patience!

Hope it will speed up soon, Im at day 4 with my cycle now, nothing special happend yet

My ammonia sat at 2PPM for 6 days - decided to dose it back upto 4PPM, then 5 days after that it dropped to 0PPM ... so it will eventually happen My temp sits at 29'C - dont know if that makes a difference at all?

I can't record my temperature very accurately at the moment, I have a silly stick on thermometer and need to buy a more accurate one.

Yeh, I started out with a stick on which seem to be unreliable, so I went out and bought the tradional ones that stick to the glass

FINALLY my cycle has made a bit of progression and moved from 2ppm! After 7 days of being stuck at 2ppm, it reduced to 1ppm and now 0.5ppm. The thing is, after dosing before reaching 0ppm before I'm now not sure if I should wait until tomorrow to put it back up to 5ppm or do it today. What do you think?
