My Complete Roma 125 Journal.

JOURNAL POST

Just a quick update, the cycle is coming along nicely and 5ppm of ammonia is being processed within 24 hours. The nitrite level is going off the scale so hopefully it will begin to drop soon! :good:

I can't believe you're doing a fishless cycle in the plant section! The mods will hate you forever  To be fair, I did one too(although it wasn't in the plant section) and it was successful, other than it taking far to long!! Best of luck :)

Only just clocked onto the fact i'm reading about a fishless cycle in the planted section. Nevermind, each to their own i suppose

Well, It's a complete journal of my Roma 125 that is going to be planted. You have to sit through the boring cycle before you see the plants! :look:

I think I might be buying them some time this week, I need to have a good guess at when my cycle will end.

Sorry to pee on your bonfire but your nitrite phase will probably last longer than your ammonia phase! *ducks the punch she knows is coming!*

Good progress though after a bit of a stop start beginning! :)

You're not supposed to tell me that!

It would be easier to let me dream...

WOW, 82 posts in this thread and you haven't even passed the first test!
ROFL!

JOURNAL POST

Just another quick update, there's nothing much to tell you apart from I'm waiting for my nitrite to start falling. I need to decide when I'm actually buying my plants and ferts too, I don't want it to be too soon but I also don't want to be planting my tank after I've stocked it with fish!

I may need some help in my educated guess... :good:

Maybe you've answered this, and I apologize if you have, but why are you cycling the tank if you are just going to plant it? Are you not planting densly?

I'm cycling the tank as the plan is to have it as a community, planted tank. I plan to moderately plant it a few days before the end of my cycle to prevent me from having to have the lights on and risk having an algae bloom.

After planting the tank and hopefully completing my cycle, I will be stocking 12 Cardinal Tetras, 6 Peppered Corys, 2 Dwarf Gouramis and a Bristlenosed Plec. :)
