So today I was looking at my betta and have noticed his tail has changed shape since I bought him, it has widened :S

I got him last saturday and then he had a deffinate spade tail as shown here:

is there any other fish with him?

Nope he's got the tank to himself.

Sidenote:
Just noticed please excuse the algae on the rock, I think I know why

Looks like the tail of a NASA rocket now

OMG you sir are a genius :hyper: I haven't been able to think of a name for him but now that'll be his name from now on, 'NASA' thats awesome :good:

if he didnt take a nip out of it himself...males are known to do that. he very well could have just been stretching slightly different when he flaired. also I have pictures that document the huge growth of my bettas over time. its pretty amazing what a few healthy weeks will do for a store bought betta.

So is it still a spade tail if it stays that shape or is that new shape a veil tail or something?

It just looks so much like a spade tail except from the tip of the tail now, but it doesnt seem to look as flowing as a veil tail though to me, if that makes sense.
