Was looking at the tank today to find mass amounts of Hair Algea! And getting Diatoms again!

I did a water change as it was 10 per cent day.
And i was gunna buy some RowaPhos cos every other phosophate remover i use dont work.

My readings are from yesterday:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 0 ( so API claims)
PH 8.1

So you didn't buy the rowaphos?

You should use rowaphos ideally before you get algae, this way it will prevent it, however it will help if you already have problem algae.

Thanks tbh i was lucky, for when my LFS mixed it with my other angel for me, they had 3, 1 amazing one, other one was still nice and one that was a bit shabby from shippment, and the luck pulled through and ive got the best one !

Question is my cleaner shrimp pregnant? Its nearly twice the size of the other one, plus its got a green underneath and i swear i saw a glimpse of eggs in its flappy fin bottoms, (forgot the normal name soz lol).

Other one is i know ive got loads of hair algea popping up, but got 250ml of rowa now in the canister 8) , But thats this pink think its been there for ages???

not too sure what that pink thing is to be honest or if the cleaner is pregnant or not, its tough to get a pic of the underside of their tail... The favites looks like it survived its little brush with stress from a while back. Looks great

Ive been looking at a site called reefstore.com and was interested in buying these, think they good buys tbh plus love the colours! would they be ok under my lights OR should i get new bulbs

Ive got roughly 240mls of Rowa Phos in my canister its been running for 2 weeks now i think, and this hair algea still wont die!

How can i get rid of it? Any ideas is much appreciated.

Cerith Snails are known to eat hair algae and I think Emerald Crabs

Went to a near by shop today, not a fav but had some nice corals despite its not perfect stock.
For £26 i bought a big colony of Yellows Zoos and found a few Orange ones on there aswell!

Still no change on the hair algea which sucks but seems to be stable atleast.

you could try dropping some mollies in their they really like HA
i did and it worked really good
