My 90 Us Gallon Reef Tank Journal

Leecara If your tank has not finished its cycle or you are going to be adding more LR that will encorage a mini cycle I would not add any Livestock at the moment, patience is the key my friend

If it is Diatoms then they are fed by Silictaes which are present in new tanks, Rowaphos or some of teh otehr Rowa removers will reduce your PO4/Silicate levels & the diatoms will die off after a while

This is a normal part of your tanks cycle/maturation

To run Rowa, you can either buy a Phos Reactor or cheaper (but not as effective) place the rowa in an Internal Filter or in a bag in a high flow area of the tank.

Incase I missed it - Are you using RO Only

i wasnt going to add any livestock until it finished cycling but i have been told as you can see here that i should get 2 to stop the algae i also asked the lfs they said it should be fine as they are very hardy i will not be adding anymore livestock until the WHOLE cycling process has finished
yes i am using ro water
i also have a phosphate remover and ammnoia remover in the aqua 1 +
is this all ok or ...

As far as I know diatoms never hurt anything so there's no real need to add some turbo snails until your tank is cycled. Though if I'm wrong somebody can correct me. Are you running enough phosphate remover or rowaphos? btw, it's not a bad idea to keep an idea of how much LR you have. :good:

ok will it be fine leaving the turbos in there or ...
2 bags of phospthate 1 amonia remover (you can look on my hardware on 1st post :good: )
i know i complety forgot each time when i bought the l.r as my mum paid for it i just choose what i liked and didnt rely consider anything else at that time
as for the l.r i will be posting pics soon and when all lr is in i will count the number of rocks in there if that helps or if you can have a rough idea from the pics i will be posting soon- hopefully
