Hey Im wondering if I can use Maracyn 2 with API Fungus Cure? My poor betta has been battling fin rot for about a month. I caught it early and treated with Betta Revive. She seemed to be getting better, fin loss stopped, slight fin regrowth etc for about 2 weeks when the fin rot returned. This time worse and more aggressive. She lost a quarter of her tail and at least a third of her anal fin. This time I treated her with neoplex and aquarium salt as per recommended by the aquarium store employee. Fin rot stopped, definite fin regrowth now, did a week of treatment. I was cautiously optimistic but then yesterday another piece of her tail disappeared :( :( :( I moved from Vancouver to Victoria on saturday, so maybe the trip stressed her out even though I kept her as warm and comfortable as possible along the way (not too warm obviously, comfortably warm). Anyway I was thinking maybe it's fungal fin rot and Ive been treating for bacterial, so last night I picked up what the lps had - API Fungus Cure. Started that this morning and was able to get to the aquarium store for advice and they had Maracyn 2. Ive heard great things about it but none of the stores in Vancouver had it, I assumed it wasnt sold in canada or something. Anyway, Ive heard people have great luck with maracyn and I want to use it, but the first dose of API Fungus Cure is in there already. Can I use them together? The owner of the aquarium store said I could but I want a second opinion. Shes in a heated 5g tank (carbon filter removed) and is acting 100% normal. Good appetite, energy, interacts with me, otherwise her normal self. She just doesnt look great and Im scared.

For the record I kept her tank parameters ideal leading up to the fin rot so I have no idea what happened. Regular partial water changes, stable 76-78F, test for ammonia nitrite nitrate and ph regularly. RIts really frustrating.

Never combine medications.

Stick with the one you've started with; if you want to change to the other one, do a few big water changes and put the carbon back into the filter for a day, to remove all the previous medication before you start with the new one.
