Managing Games

Borussia Dortmund's Post and Pre-match Conference

Q: Following the results last night how much has the draw cost you?
A: Well, firstly i am a little disopointed with the result. In my eyes we should have won, we didnt play well, so it was only fair for Estudiantes to get a point. I was very impressed the way they played and i strongly believe that they will improve. We are still top by three points but Feyenoord can go level if they win Estudiantes in a few weeks when they play there game in-hand. We were very lucky that the other teams also drew so we are as we were.

Q: Do you think the players were a little reserved in the game, as you have a big game against Sampdoria tonight?
A: Yes i think they were. Sampdoria will be harder to beat than Estudiantes, but again i think we can win.

Q: Which three teams do you think will be promoated this season and who would you like to go up?
A: I think that the teams going up will be America as champions, Feyenoord in second and i believe that Aston Villa will pip thrid. I would like to see America, Aston Villa and either Sampdoria or Man City to go up. I would like Feyenoord to stay in this league for the battle next season, Between Us, Zagreb, Moskva.

Q: Why do you want Feyenoord to stay in this league?
A: Why! because they are a big team who have quality players. As a manager and fan of the game i want to compete against the best players i can, which Feyenoord have. Yes Dan as done a fanstatic job and will get my vote for manager of the year.

Q: Sampdoria are thrid in the league, does anyone player stand out to you?
A: No they are like Estudiantes they dont have the top class players but work very well togther they play as a team and work for each other.

Q: Finally your prediction for tonights game?
A: Dortmund win 2-1. Matias to score.

They gathered journalists laught

Spartak Moskva 3 - 1 América

Moskva yet again turns over one of the top 3 teams ending América 4 game winning streak and maybe handing the championship to Feyenoord.

Post-Match Conference

Yet again you beat one of the top three teams in the league are you sending out a message to the others teams for next season?
Indeed I am. I am very confident that if keep up the performances and work rate we will be challenging for the title next year

Any word on Dario SRNA returning?
Unfortunately Srna shall not be back until the new season. I see this as a major blow as he been instrumental in the results since I brought him in. But I have a strong squad and hopefully 1 or 2 can step up to the plate

Critics are now claiming that you have the best centre backs pairing in the division
I believe so. They are the perfect match for each other. Fabricio loves to run with the ball and get involved higher up the pitch and MEIRA can fill in for him

Post-Match Conference

Dan an excellent win here and you go 4 points clear at the top of the table with 5 games to go, surely you are favourites to take the championship?

Yes we will be and i think we won't let anyone down, it was an excellent peformance and we just have to keep the momentum going. the 3 5 2 formation worked excellently for us as it helped us boss the midfield against Toulouse's 3 men in the middle.

Your toughest game of the 5 remaining against Villa away from home, what do you expect?

Yes, the game will be very tough as villa are on a bit of form and can't afford to slip up themselves as they might not even get in the top 3. If we slip up we are still top so you could say they have more to lose but that doesn't mean they want the win more than us because we are focused and determined to keep our unbeaten run until the end of the season.

Villa changed the formation before the game, as a manager that likes to counter formations what will you do in the next game?

Well, our scouts have been watching them for the last few games and they have played the 4 1 2 1 2 formation which has been very successful. They play the 4 3 3 formation this time around and won so i think that Dave will keep this in his next game. So i will stick to the 3 5 2 formation we used today but chance from very attacking to a little more cautious approach as we are away from home and against a team with a little more attacking talent than toulouse.

Finally who will go up this season?

I still think America and Sampdoria will be shoved out of the top 3. I expect us to take the title and boro to go up. I really think the final game of the season between Villa and Man City will decide which one of those 2 goes up so hopefully it will be a very exciting end to the season! Thanks

Today Spartak Moskva revealed a loan signing of Nani until end of the season. Fans where shocked and overjoyed at the news of such a talent playing at the Luzhniki even if it not permanent.
William Gibson went on to express his joy at this signing and stating its such a major boost when the club needs it the most.

TFF Cup fixtures for the 25th need to be arranged

Estudiantes v S.Moskva
Feyenoord v Toulouse
B.Dortmund v D.Zagreb

I have sent a request to play D.Zagreb and am awaiting reply, Estudantes need to offer S.Moskva, and Feyenoord need to offer Toulouse.

AZ Alkmaar v Borussia Dortmund Pre-Match Conference

Q: Andrew following your last two games is there room for improvement?
A: Oh yes, in our last two games we havnt played well at all, agains both Estudiantes and Sampdoria we were second best.

Q: Following AZ last few results, your team will be going for a win?
A: Yes AZs form in the worst in the league, 1 point from their last 6 games. Yes i want another win tonight to put the last two games behind us. We now need to finish as high as we can.

Q: Recent specultion links the club with a move for Micah Richards, can you confirm this?
A: Yes we did try to sign Micah, but only on loan. Maybe after the season finishers we may try to sign him on a full time contract. We will have to wait and see.

Q: Any other transfer dealing then?
A: No comment, i carnt comment on any other transfers at the moment, so no.

Q: Any one player stand out for you from AZ Alkmaar?
A: I have seen there last few games on video, Yes two players stand out to me. The first is Jaliens in defence and the other is De Zeeuw in midfield. We will need to watch these players, yes there on some bad form at the moment, but i want a victory against them to add to the bad form. Lately the Alkmaar players are very low on moral so this will go against them as my team now are on the up.

Q: So your prediction for the game?
A: Well considering AZs form a Dortmund win 3-1 with Marias Vouso to get a goal. Thanks very much see you later.

De La Red turns Purple!

**Toulouse have continued a busy week in the transfer-market, with the signing of Spanish Defensive midfielder, RUBEN DE LA RED from Getafe.*** The deal is believed to be around 7Million + N.Dieuze in exchange and the 89 rated 23 yr.old is regarded as a quality purchase by many in the Spanish media circle.

It is not certain if he will start tonights game, and late fitness checks on DE LA RED and new Defender Dorin GOIAN will be carried out prior to kick-off.

Along with N.Dieuze departing, defender D.Congre has also left for 4.35Mill.

>>> A bid of around 5Million is on the table from Sampdoria for Forward MIDO who is struggling to make the starting line-up at the moment at Toulouse.

shocking 3-0 loss for me away to villa but more importantly mark borriello is out and injured for the rest of the season and the start of next season!

Report coming later

Post-match conference, TOULOUSE 2 - Rennes 3

Press-man; Mr.T, that was a cruel way to lose a game in which you led 2-0 and largely dominated the game. Will the players recover their morale in time for the next game?

Mr.T; To be honest, I pity the fools! No, no seriously I am shell-shocked after that 89th minute sickener. It was a simple goal from a corner> but maybe only having three at the back ultimately cost us.
The plan worked up until the hour, with a 2 goal lead and 20 attempts. ..I thought the finishes by EMANA and PONGOLLE were excellent and Florent-Sinama deserved his M.OM award tonight.

Press-man II; If you could have changed the formation would you have?

Mr.T; Without doubt. Given the opportunity I would have reverted to a back four and put Emana in the holding role, but in this game it is not an option to do such tactical changes. It has really p*$%# me off on a number of occasions now.

Press-Man; Oh, calm down please, we don't want to get the tranquilisers out! Any worries over the confidence following the nature of this defeat and the poor run of form??

Mr.T; None at all. We have two top-quality players who were not match fit. They will come into the side and improve it for certain. Dorin is a giant centre-half and Ruben is just what we need in midfield. Once Sessegnon and Kolodin settle in I believe we will be far better equipped next season.

Press man II; So are you righting off this season then?

Mr.T; Well, we can't make the top 6 and our chances of winning the TFF Cup are limited. We will never give up though!! Never.

Press-Man I; Is there any truth in the rumours of MIDO possibly leaving after less tan a season in France?

Mr.T; It doesn't take a rocket-scientist to work out that Mido has never started under my regime and that his fitness is not up to my standards. To be fair he has always done well coming off the bench, but I only want players who can play the full 90 when asked.
If the right offer comes in > he will be packing his suitcase once again! At least He'll be building up his air-miles.

Press Man III; Are you concerned over the discontent shown by some fans at the final whistle?

Mr.T; No more questions. I'm off to get my glass of milk and a Snickers.

Press Man III; But, Sir, can you tell me if the pressure is getting to you....Sir?

Mr.T; Go and rummage through Britneys Bins or something, will ya! (Walks off laughing with Assistant)

Spartak Moskva v Borussia Dortmund TFF Cup Pre-Match Conference

Q: Following the recent bad results and Spartaks recent form, you must be a little nervous going into the game?
A: Yes Spartak have been playing very well lately, No i wont be nervous. If i was then the team would be, then we would lose and we dont need that.

Q: You were two nil down aginst AZ Alkmaar what did you do to change the game aroud?
A: Yes we were 2 down just after the re-start so, there was very little i could physically do, our captain pires did a fansatic job, the team still believed that they could turn the game around and they did, along with the subs we got back into the game and were unlucky not to get three points.

Q: Will Spartak cause the team any problems?
A: Yes Spartak are a very good team, William has done a excellent job in turning the club around. Next season they will be going for the League tittle. They will cause us many problems. They have and excellent midfield as well as there defence and goalkeeper, the only weakness in my eyes the team has is infront of goal. They defend very well and are hard to score against. However we did play them the other week in our first TFF Cup clash, and we walked away winners, so they will be wanting to even the score and get a win against us. It will be harder for us this time as they have done very well since the defeat and we are playing at there ground. If we can get a win it will be fansatic for us, if we get a point i will be happy, we must not lose at all costs. If we lose then i think we will be out of contention for the Cup. We are hoping that Toulouse can either win or hold Feyenoord to a draw. Considering Feyenoords 3-0 defeat to Villa, they may be a bit defensive and that may allow Toulouse to gain a point. The Toulouse players will be trying so hard to get a result as they seem unable to do anything in the league. They must make there home advantage count.

Q: So with the club unable to gain promotion this season are you going to concentrate on the TFF Cup?
A: Well yes and no, yes i want to win the TFF Cup. Mainly for the fans. Its been a very hard year for them so to end win a Cup win would be great. No beacuse we still need to finish as high as we can in the league. At the moment we are fighting on two fornts, the league and cup.

Q: Can i just ask, once again in the news the club is linked with a move for David Beckham. Can you just confim if the club is after Beckham and end the media speculation?
A: Well yes we are after Beckham. Last night i had a long conversation with his manager over a possible move to Dortmund. The reply i got was that Man City are looking to replace him and have a player lined up. They confirmed that once the player arrives in Manchester then we can procced with a transfer for Beckham. So once City get there replacement then we can start the transfer process with David, we have already agreed a price for David which both parties are happy with. So in the next few days we hope to have David wearing a dortmund shirt.

Q: Can i ask you for your prediction in the TFF Cup?
A: Yes you can, Estudiantes 0-1 Dinamo Zagreb, Toulouse 1-2 Feyenoord and i believe that we can win again but it will be a very difficult game so a 2-1 win for Dortmund.

Post-Match Conference

Dan, a humiliating defeat in a game that you were for large parts the better side?

Yes i'm very dissappointed with the loss. It's my first loss in the league and it puts an end to the 17 game unbeaten run we've mounted. Had we of won tonight we would've been 6 points clear of 2nd and everything but promoted to division 3. But as it stands we must battle on and anythin could happen. Certain teams are hitting form and we have to make sure this isn't our blip for the season because we are due one if history repeats itself.

3-0 down at half-time there was no way back?

Nope it was all over when juninho put the ball in the back of the net and made it 3. I took a gamble tonight and it didn't pay off. Dave used a different formation to the one i setup to counter and we were left in no-mans land. Maybe i will switch my tactical focus to just play to our own strengths rather than our oppononents weaknesses....

Manchester City could well be out of the promotion race which is the biggest shock of all considering the quality of their squad as they've added to it again this week and have a 92 CF joining them tommorow. Even with their squad they will struggle next seasn with the improved look of the teams in divsion 4.

Finally dan Borriello is injured and that is a big loss at this stage of the season?

Losing marko at any stage of the season is a big loss look at the statistics. he had the best goals per game ratio in the league and he was in the top 10 scorers considering he's played less than half the amount of games some of the guys in there have played. Also he had the highest average performance rating in the league which proves who important he is. He joined Cicihno (90 rating) in being out for the rest of the season and the start of next season. I will try and get another attacker in on loan to cover him. Paneti from Real is playing well but not scoring right now so i will try and find a free scoring striker to assist him. Thanks

TOULOUSE Vs. Feyenoord TFF Cup Pre-match conference;

Press-Man; Another tough game awaits you, Mr.T....will it be used as a tactical experiment again, or are you aiming to beat the high-flyers from Holland?

Mr.T; We always try to win, no matter what the opposition's reputation is! However, due to slight niggling injuries to a few players, I will be making a few changes to my last line-up.

Press-man; Any clues?

Mr.T; Seeing as I know you, go on then....Dorin GOIAN and DeLaRED are making full debuts tonight for starters. It will be a Diamond formation, with DeLa RED in front of the back four. I'm giving young Gio DOS SANTOS another go in the hole as I feel the Mexican has talent, it just needs coaxing out of him> he can only gain confidence from more first-team experience.
Nobby SOLANO returns on the right, with Captain Emana and Sessegnon being rested.
The front two will again be GOMIS and PONGOLLE, with Pongolle in good form at the moment.

Press-man; Is this going to be the final showing of MIDO?
Mr.T; He will be making an appearance, but I can't confirm if it will be his final farewell to the fans.

Press-Man; Are you weary of the threats from Feyenoord?

Mr.T; I know a fair bit about them now> I'm pleased Borriello is injured, but with T.Henry ready to step in, they have not a bad replacement! Zinha and Romanic pull the strings in midfield and with the back up of Torrado and defence of Woodgate, Vargas & Castro they have strong foundations. Who knows> he may make changes, as I have done....?
>One thing is sure, It will be an entertaining, attacking match for the full-house who come tonight! Can't wait.

Breaking News

Theirry Henry has made a temporary switch division 4 leader Feyenoord following a loan move which will run until the end of the season. The players 100k wages per week were deemed worthy of the extra 500k profit of winning the league compared to 2nd and the transfer has been completed.

The frenchman who plys his trade at division 2 champions Barcelona has been leant out after the 2 managers spoke in the spanish capital. It is believed that Dan asked about the players services following the injury of club top scorer Borriello who will miss the final 4 games. The English manager played on the fact that Barca have messi eot and ronaldinho to see out the final 4 games in which they are already promoted.

FC Porto also came in with a bid but were rejected as the player preffered a short move to holland.

He will surely feature in tonights TFF cup clash with Toulouse.

***Fans flock to greet Henry's arrival in France***

> Hundreds, of fans flocked to the 'LeAirporto' near Toulouse to try and catch a glimpse of French superstar Thierry HENRY ahead of tonights TFF Cup clash.
As the Feyenoord team arrived on a private plane, it was clear why the crowds had gathered. A security chief had even called in all available staff to deal with the numbers, and he stated that the only time he had seen scenes similar was when a certain E.Cantona visited the city back in 1999.

Even the most die-hard Toulouse fan would surely not begrudge a goal for Henry tonight, as he is expected to make his debut on his short Loan deal with the Dutch side.

**It is also being stated that the game is a sell-out and that local 'entrepreneurs' selling either fake tickets or fake T.Henry replica kits should be avoided, as the authorities are cracking down on these rogue traders.

*HENRY is star of the show in TFF Cup*

Thierry Henry lived up to the pre-match hype with 2 goals and the M.O.M award on his debut for Feyenoord. In a game where B.Gomis disgraced himself with a petulant sending-off offence the game was as good as over after 55 mins.

At 0-3 down though, F-S PONGOLLE showed his quality and fighting spirit with a clever finish to make the result slightly respectable.
Once again, Young Mexican Gio DOS SANTOS failed to produce a good performance, with another 5 rating.

Also, the sending off of GOMIS meant that the departing MIDO did not get his chance to appear from the bench in front of the Toulouse faithful - in what was predicted to be his farewell.

Toulouse are surely unable to win the Cup this season and will have only pride to play for in the remaining fixtures.

Meanwhile, Feyenoord can take confidence from this result following a 0-3 defeat in their last League game.
