Managing Games

TOULOUSE 1- 0 B.Dortmund Brief report;

A much needed 3 points were won by Toulouse tonight, as Stephen SESSEGNON provided the vital goal on 41 minutes and he also picked up the M.O.M award.
Toulouse had 58% possession and the fact that BOJAN was dismissed on 76th minute could only have helped the home side. French keeper J.JANOT produced a good commanding performance and only Spanish midfield general R.DE LA RED will feel he could have produced more.
Substitute A.KONE had a good impact when he came on for PONGOLLE on 75 minutes and he will be in Mr.T's mind when selecting the next team Versus Man City next Saturday.

Toulouse are now 5 points ahead of Dortmund and this result was very much a '6 pointer' although neither team can be relegated or promoted this season.

>> Both of these sides will be hoping to get a good start next season and under new managers, they will be aiming to push for the top 8 in the new regime.

Dortmund face 2nd place A.Villa next, which could have serious reprecussions in the title race....

Portsmouth 0 - 2 Feyenoord

Attendance: 10,347
Scorers: Henry (51) Pantelic (88)

Feyenoord Last night inched towards the Championship last night with a comfortable win over mid-table Portsmouth. Goals from on-loan strikers Theirry Henry and Pantelic secured the win. The victory also saw the club promoted to division 3 with the away supporters running onto the pitch to salute their heroes.

Post-Match Conference

Dan, Congratulations! How do you feel?

Thanks, yes i feel great securing a place in division 3 for next season is tremendous well done to my staff, players, fans and everyone involved in the club it has been an incredible day. Of course we are not mathematically up but we sit 6 points ahead of Sampdoria who are 4th by 6 points. They have - 17 goal difference against us so it would take 2 big wins and us to lose big twice for us not to go up which is almost impossible.

Dan, You've won your last 2 games with 4 goals from players on loan, is this worrying for you?

Of course not, i have to do good business in the loan market as well as in the transfer market to be successful and as far as i am concerned i have done just that. The players we brought in for the rest of the season have played a big part no doubt- that's why i brought them here in the first place but to say that we may have lost points without them is disrespectful to the rest of the squad. Considering we have been top for so long you'd have to say that everyone has given the club their best.

Just the title left to decide now then Dan?

Yes, this will be very exciting now although we could lose next week and still be named champions. Villa are away to Dortmund which is a very tough game for anyone. Yes, Villa have the form on their side but they're not half the team away from home they at home. So i think dortmund could get a point which would hand the title to ourselves.

Finally Dan, what about the other 2 teams to join you up? who will they be now with last nights developments?

Well i had written America off with our victory over them last week but they are back into 3rd and have an excellent chance of joining us now. It's been cut from 7 teams for 3 positions to 4 teams for 2 positions now. Manchester City the favourites to begin with will be kicking themsleves they now sit 4 points behind 3rd place America but they play at home to Toulouse and away to Villa in which they must win both games to stand any chance of going up. Even that may not be enough to put them up. Boro were thumped by Sampdoria which did you shock me so i can't really say who i think now.

I think villa will draw with dortmund, America, Boro and sampdoria to win in the next game which would say that before the final game of the season the table would look like this.

Now:

1st Feyenoord Pts 72
2nd Villa Pts 67
3rd America Pts 66
4th Sampdoria Pts 66
5th Boro Pts 65

After 37th game (Predictions)

1st Feyenoord Pts 75 ©
2nd America Pts 69
3rd Sampdoria Pts 69
4th Villa Pts 68
5th Boro Pts 68

And then we will have to wait and see the final game table

Borussia Dortmund v Dinamo Zagreb pre-match conference

Q: Andrew can i just ask following the poor performance against Toulouse, what went wrong?
A: Well my players didnt play well at all. We missed easy chances, which cost us the game. Bojan didnt help the cause by geting sent off, thats him now done for the league season.

Q: David Beckham has finnally arrived at Dortmund after a drawn out saga?
A: Yes we have had to wait to finally get David. We would have had him sooner if Manchester City had kept there word. We have known for a while that David has wanted to join the club, now hopefully FC. Porto will keep there word and we may see David here as a full member of the squad.

Q: Will David feature tonight?
A: He may, he may not.

Q: You won Dianmo in the league a few games ago, can you repeat this tonight?
A: I believe that we can, we are at home so yes we can win. Winning at home isnt the problem, we carnt seem to win away.

Q: Florian Kringe is been linked with a move away form the club, can you confirm this?
A: Yes Florian may be leaving the club at the end of the season, we know that Zaragoza are wanting him, at the moment we are unable to agree a fee for Florian, so there have been talks between the clubs but nothing else. Florian wants first team football and i am unable to grantee that for him. He may leave he may not.

Q: Dinamo go into tonights game following a 0-0 draw with city, so they will be looking for a win?
A: Yes every team will be looking for a win, In the TFF Cup everyone wants to win it. There is only Feyenoord who are all but granteed to win silverware this season. Its our last chance and all the other teams lbar Feyenorrds last chance.

Q: Any one stand out on the Dinamo team?
A: Yes they have many players that stand out on the page, Young, Smolarek, Loskov, Valdivia.

Q: And can you give us a prediction?
A: I would say considering we are at home, a Dortmund Win 2-1

Feyenoord 1- 1 TOULOUSE Result in TFF Cup;

After a hefty defeat in last weeks Cup match, this was deemed a vast improvement for Toulouse. Arouna KONE was handed a starting spot and notched the equiliser on 59 mins. Feyenoord had more possesion and far more shots at goal, but Toulouse showed a battling quality against the champions-elect.

Once again Gio DOS SANTOS was handed a role in the 'hole', but he only managed a rating of 5 once again. It is highly unlikely that his loan deal will be renewed or any Permanent transfer materialising after a succession of poor matches.

M.Pantellic walked away with the M.O.M and A.KONE was Toulouse's best player on the hot night in Holland.

Regulars, A.EMANA, F.MANSARE, EBONDO, ILUNGA and PONGOLLE will return for the next league fixture.

>>>Feyenoord will have been far more concerned with the upcoming league fixture, where the Championship trophy could be on it's way.

Good luck from Mr.T :good:

Man.City Vs. TOULOUSE Pre-match brief...

> A short press release to the local media only, was handed out earlier today....

It stated that a few players return whom were rested in the TFF Cup draw with Feyenoord. Captain A.EMANA joins R.DE LA RED in midfield, with F.MANSARE on the left and SESSEGNON back to his favoured right wing slot.
>The strike partnership will be the Scorer A.KONE with F-S PONGOLLE, with on-loan B.GOMIS expected to come off the bench on the hour.

M.CETTO returns to central defence alongside D.GOIAN, with KOLODIN at left-back and EBONDO at right-back.
It is expected that FABINHO and N.SOLANO will get a run-out at some stage, with 'pride' and earning an extra windfall for finishing as high as possible being the thing to play for now.

Man.City will be a tough opponent, and a point would be happily accepted by Mr.T and his staff.

>>>Meanwhile, it has emerged that long-term target S.DISTAIN is also wanted by AC MIlan, but all bids have been rejected so far. Aged 30, he is still highly-rated and it will be extremely difficult to tempt him to his native France for his final few years.

Man.City 1- 2 TOULOUSE. brief summary.

Toulouse Chairman Frederic Bordout, commented 'he was over the moon', as he departed to the plush bar at Eastlands, after his team came away wil all three points against 6th place City.

Goals from F-S PONGOLLE and S.SESSEGNON put the Frenchmen two up within the hour. Pongolle with a clever finish from 25 yards, whilst Sessegnon was a rather scrambled affair- but it proved decisive, as Man.City pulled one back soon after.

A good performance by Keeper, JANOT once again helped immensely, and Pongolle also got an 8 rating. B.GOMIS did well when he came on on 60 mins as he aims to get back his starting place from A.KONE.

Toulouse have now went up to 13th after two wins and they will hope to give the fans a good send-off in the final game next Wednesday in France.

Borussia Dortmund 0-1 Aston Villa

Both He and the board are unhappy with the team performance tonight. I Reapeat Andrew Watson's post-match conference will no longer take place. We are very sorry about this but Andrew has had to make an urgent trip away. Assitant manager Paul Gascoigne will take a conference sometime tomorrow, Paul will also take tempory charge.

DOS Spaniards in TOULOUSE......

Toulouse Manager Mr.T, his Asst. F.Jacques and Chairman held an upbeat press-conference this morning to announce the signing of Spanish Striker FERNANDO LlORRENTE from A.Bilbao.

LlORRENTE is one of the divisions hottest Strikers, with 16 goals, 15 assists and 8 M.O.M awards this season and this outstanding form has played a major role in Toulouse splashing the 8.2 Million cash on the 23 yr.old.

>>He joins fellow Spaniard R.DE LA RED at Toulouse, who only signed 2 weeks ago and he will no-doubt become his room-mate and chapperrone!

Toulouse now have Strikers F-S PONGOLLE, A.KONE and F.LlORRENTE, along with on-loan B.GOMIS and Gio DOSSANTOS to choose from. Youngster A.GIGNAC is still recovering from injury and his future at Toulouse must now be in doubt.

It was revealed that F.LlORRENTE will be paraded to the fans 10mins prior to kick-off in the final game of the season Versus fellow French side Lille next Wednesday night. > It is likely the Spanish matador will play some part on the field, although he probably won't start the match.

(Mr.T has also been brushing up on his Spanish as he walked from the podium saying 'Adios, Muchos Gracias! Hasta Manana........'Dos Cerveca Por Favour'

Bourissa Dortmund 0-1 Aston Villa Post-Match Conference

with Assistant Manager Paul Gascoigne

Q: Paul can i first ask why has Andrew had to go away? and how long will he be gone? does this have any thing to do with the results? is he leaving the club?
P: I wont answer that question, Andrew will be as long as he needs to be, it has nothing to do with Dortmunds results, no he wont be leaving the club.

Q: Can you give us the location of Andrew then, some reports in the media are saying that he has gone home to England while others say that he is in Spain or Italy?
P: No Andrew is where he needs to be.

Q: Paul if Andrew dosent come back to the club will you be up as a possible replacement?
P: As i have already said Andrew will return to the club, He is still manager and will be still manager. No if Andrew leaves the club then i wont go for the job, i am still learning, so i think it would be a step to far at this time.

Q: So if Andrew leaves then it is likely that you would soon follow?
P: Most likely, as the new man would bring his own team of coachs with him. Its not going to happen though, Andrew will still be the manager next season, and i hopefully will be his assistant.

Q: Is it a family matter?
P: No comment, can we just stick to the result against Villa.

Q: Paul, how do you feel aout the club?
P: Well the club have had a major turn arround, many players have come and gone, i think that the club is on the up. Yes our last few results have been poor but this season has been very tiresome. I believe that Andrew can take this club up and into the league above.

Q: Paul as you say the last few games your team havent played well, why?
P: No they havent, as i have said the team is tired.

Q: So Paul you are rulling yourself out of taking over if Andrew leaves
P: Iv had enough of this, the conference is over.

TOULOUSE Vs. Lille, Pre-match statement from Mr.T...

"I would firstly like to thank all of the dedicated fans who have followed this transitional season with Toulouse....I can assure them that we will be stronger and better prepared both mentally and physically for the whole of next season under my stewardship. Get your season tickets early as it will be an exciting year ahead...
I am still buzzing over the capture of LlORENTE and feel our options in the final third of the pitch are very good>all under 24 yrs. and all going to improve their already good ratings. I will aim to tighten the defensive unit also, with KOLODIN and GOIAIN already a potentially collossal pairing, quality full-backs in place and Keeper JANOT settling in nicely.

For tonights Final Lge. game against Lille, I will be going for a win as usual and we must play for Pride against our French rivals!

A 4-3-3 will be used, with B.GOMIS, F-S PONGOLLE and A.KONE designated to wreak havok on the back two of Z.Camara and our transfer target N.PLESTAN. It will be a test for Plestan, and it will be interesting to see how he copes.
F.MANSARE is now fully-fit, joining R.DE LA RED and SESSEGNON in midfield engine room.
>Defence will be slighly changed, with M.CETTO switching to right-back, GOAIN & KOLODIN in centre and ILUNGA on left.
J.JANOT has been handed the Captaincy, due to EMANA'S suspension and I hope he will feel honoured by my choice.

>>>I also can confirm that F.Llorente WILL play some part, and will be paraded to the fans 10mins. prior to Kick-Off.
It is highly likely that the on-loan players of Gio DOS SANTOS and N.SOLANO will be making a final bow, although I am doing my upmost to keep B.Gomis for another spell.
I hope R.MAKAAY has an off-day, but with OBRANIAK and DEBUCHY's creativity and Mirallas and YESTE supporting him; we will have to defend very well to win.
They attack, we also will attack> Goals are almost guarenteed for the Fans, hope they enjoy it and we get the points!

America v Borussia Dortmund Pre-Match Conference

with Assistant Manager Paul Gascoigne

Q: Paul still no word on Andrew's future at the club?
P: This is the only question i will answer on Andrew's role at the club, yes Andrew has been in contact with me, yes he will be back at the club next season. Reports in the media about him taking over at Bilbao are false. I will say this that Andrew returned home to England and that is all, now on to tonights final league game against America. Andrew will return when he returns.

Q: Paul will the team tonight be one picked by you?
P: Yes that will be my job and will return to the manager once he returns

Q: Paul Bojan is suspended for tonights game so will Healy join Matias up front?
P: I have yet to decide on the formation and the team yet so maybe.

Q: America need a win to have any chance of promotion, do you fancy a win tonight?
P: Yes America need a win and need Middlesbrough to lose against Zagreb, Zagreb are a very good side so it may happen.

Q: Paul this will be your second game incharge will Andrew be back for the friendly on friday
P: That is not known at the present time.

Q: Paul can we ask you for your prediction for tonights game?
P: Well i dont normaly do this, but go on then, it will be a very tough game away form home, america are a good side. I believe that they need to go up this season as next year it will be a lot harder. I think that we can walk away with a point, if they play poor and we play well then maybe all three points. Thanks alot, thats all. COME ON DORTMUND!
