ooooooooh got some major bubblenests!

half the tank covered in bubbles!

Both males are coloured up and bubbling, one more so than the other, one is brigt orange with a totally black face and throat, the other just has the black throat.

Only got one girl coloured up properly that i can see, iot must be the tannins!!

Right quick update - bad.

Lamp has broken and thus have no light.
Male gourami is getting increasingly aggressive and so the other inhabitants arent doing so well, just sort of hiding in a corner.
Shrimp are getting old and i think starting to die of old age. Either that or male gourmai bully is killing them.
Wood is making the water darker and darker. Did a 75% change today and it made no difference whatsoever.

Good.
Plants are slightlty alive.
Everyone is still breathing.
Tank is in one piece!

That light unit will give you enough light for your tank. Mine is somewhat bigger and it has 2 T8's of the same size. With T5's you will get more than enough light.

It doesn't say though whether the tubes are included; it doesn't look like it...

I don't know the dimensions (length) of your tank. The length of this type of tube you can easily get off internet. Google the Arcadia light unit and find out its dimensions....

There are quite a few arcadia light units out there, hence why i asked on here.

According to internet, the lights have the following lengths: 550mm (22”) - 850mm (34”). 22 is for the smaller tubes that fit, and 34 for the longer ones. They fit a 3ft tank; now here you need to help me as I am a metric person...

my tank is 36 inches long, so therefore the light unit would be two inches too short?

According to an internet length converter: 3 feet = 36 inch so it would fit your tank. Don't forget that the tube is 34'' so you need to add some length for the housing and fitting of the tube.

So I bought an APS T5 double tube luminaire, couldnt be bothered waiting for ebay auctions to finish, and it was 10% cheaper on the ebay site than it was on the actual APS site HMMMM. Paid £68 for a double luminaire so pretty pleased.

So whilst I'm waiting for that to come I'm going to have a change around in my room, and hopefully my stand will be finished sometime in the next week, llove my granddad, and then it can go somewhere and look pretty and ill be able to do proper waterchanges!! YAY!


So whats the next step everybody?


Oh and I've put my gouramies on ebay, if anyone wants first dibs? I doubt it but worth a try! Mr Angrypants is getting way too aggressive and the Praecox are sort of hiding away in the corner, and he killed a shrimp, so theyre all going, which leaves me whith the question of:

Do I buy:

1) more Praecox and some shrimp
2) mor ePraecox and some cories
3) more Praecox and some glowlights
4) Glowlights and shrimp
5) Glowlights and cories.

Found a website that does glowlights for something like 96p each so it would cost me just over a tenner for a shoal.. HMMMM

Have found a website that sells panda cories for 3.95 ea and pygmy cories for about the same - which ones? I don't like sterbai or julii either so my bank balance will love me!

And gonna get some shrimp off Steve I think, depending on whether he has any left next friday
