Kari's First Marine Tank Journal

Hehe, wrong "timeout", I meant more of a "whoa, you know that's a camelshrimp right". Forgot that I can actually give people timeouts

Anyways, as long as you're aware that it is a camel shrimp and their reputation for bieng coral munchers, that's fine. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were getting into and didn't mistakenly think it was a peppermint shrimp. Lots of people with tanks full of corals have made that mistake, only to have it backfrire on them

Just catching up with people's journals and your tank is looking lovely Kari :D I like the camel shrimps too. Aren't they the 'dancing' ones? :D

Timeouts are what I give my kids when they are playing up, they have to go to their rooms & be quiet lol, I didnt think I had done anything wrong enough to be sent to my room, no ones tried to do that in 20yrs rofl!

He is a really gorgeous shrimp, his colours are amazing & so far he is very well behaved, but then I am keeping him well fed, so that might help. The only thing I dont like so much is that he is pretty much nocturnal, comes out about 5pm, so dont see him as much as I'd like.

Kari, whats going on?
Not heard off your journal for a while, let alone yourself.
Hope everything is ok.
Give us an update.

I will try to update tomorrow, my toadstool is growing really well & my little goby is a real cutie, will nab hubbies camera & see what I can get.

Sorry, life keeps getting in the way

The only piccie I have for now is one I grabbed a couple of days ago of my little green clown goby in my toadstool, i'm not sure if he is hosting, the toadstool was really not happy to begin with, but he stayed in there all day yesterday & the coral looks much happier now, here's a not very good picture.

the camera is now with hubs for work, promise to try for more pics soon.

Kari, you have made me fall in love with them green clown gobys!
What are they like, easy to feed, agressive, active etc?
Give me a little run down if you would, on how yours is personally.
I love the picture by the way, amazing.

Thank you, I love my little Elmo, he is a really fun fish to keep, for the first day he hid & wouldnt feed, but since then he's really, really cute & full of personality.

He plays peek a boo with Nemo & the shrimp lol, he likes to hide behind rocks & jump out & wizz around, spent most of the day sat on the toadstool looking very pleased with himself.

Very easy to feed, he eats the marine flakes & loves brine shrimp, I pop them in using the turkey baster & the flow from the powerhead wizzes them around the tank for him to chase.

He is awake all day, then when I turn the lights off he rests against the glass at the front of the tank & goes to sleep, his colour also changes to blue at night, very sweet.
