Looking brillaint. Soz if this has already been discussed but do you have any fish in there? Or planning on any fish?

I have 7 Otto's ,2 Siamese flying fox (for now just in case of hair algae), 6 Japonica shrimps but what i really want is some pencils Nannostomus Mortenthaleri. Difficult to get hold off but im working on it!

Had another fiddle planter,

So you say the third rock ( from the sun :p ) makes the front look cramped, so maybe get rid of the rocks and move some plants around like what ive done ( remember i only make suggestions, its all down to taste).

Notice the lines i have drawn, the red represents the level at which "I" would make the first cuts, the blue line is the cut that "I" think the Hygro would be best cut at that level.

Looks great though Planter.

Thanks Moody,

I think the foreground looks o.k without the rocks! not sure about the straight line of dwarf sag. but I get the idea. I kinda see where your going with the trimming. Can I trim on any part off the plants stem?

Yeah planter it was just to help you visualise the scape without the rocks, im sure you could do a better job with other plants but it may help you to decide what to do with it.

As for the where to cut have a look at the pics below.

I dont think it matters on what angle you cut as long as its not directly on or next to the plant node/joint so any where on the internode ( the bit between nodes ) is fine.

:D lovin your pics moody! :D

Spent the last 30 mins trimming! you will probobly say i havent been brutal enough, but im taking it a step at a time. As you can see ive had a good go at the left hand side (Rotala) and have trimmed a few stems from the Nomaphila (back/left) also trimmed the same Rotala centre back (behind wood) quite low in an effort to get a nice full plant to fill the background. I loook forward to the next couple of weeks seeing how the plants respond! Got myself 10 tiny crystal bee shrimps today, really nice! ;) let me know what you think.

That's a lovely looking tank you have there! :good:

I know you've move the java fern once, but IMHO i think it would look better if it was on the base of the wood. Then the leaves will grow up between the branches. But hey, that's my taste ;) .

Seems my KH is creeping up!? any one know why? started using the Plant nutrition + recently which has coincided with a film on the surface! is this all related ? KH now 5

waw looks awsome! the drift wood in the middle makes everything look authentic and live! if you dont got fish in there maybe you should put some nice peaceful angels or something. hmm the kh is up there might not be anough surface agitation thats why the skum is there. make sure your not using too much of this plant fertilizer, that could b the problem

Have you droped or increased your Co2 in the last few days??

As for you trimming "i" would be like :ninja: HIYA, CHOP CHOP, KI'IEEEEH, HACK and rest :zz

sorry been so busy ive not had time to reply!

I did crank up the Co2 in an effort to get my Glosso going! My KH is still 5 PH is 6.67 giving me a Co2 of 35.98ppm. Ive dosed again this week (after water change) with the PN+ and the film on the surface keeps returning? Im sure im not overdosing as im only adding the recommended amount and im quite heavily planted if anything im probobly under doing it. What do you think?

The tanks open top isn't it?
All the tanks that I have had or have after about 5-7 days get a slight film on the surface, i just put it down to dust accumulating in the surface, normally people put the scum/film down to protein but you dont have any fish so i dout its that.

ok well its not a major problem. Just strange that it should appear as soon as i started adding the fert.

New pic for ya! cant ya tell i dont work Fridays!!! :D
