Hello,
I was wondering if anyone knew what type of cichlids I can put in with my Albino Jeweled. She is about 5 inches long and I have her with 6 1 inch gold severums, Not to sure how this will end up but she is very passive. We rescued her from a malawi tank and they beat her up to the point that she has no tail, Another Question... Will her fins grow back or will she have to suffer I will try to get a pic for you guys she is one to be proud of!!!!!

Are you talking about a jewel cichlid?

how big is your tank?

6 severums will require lots of space, unless you're hoping a pair will form and are going to breed them.

If you ARE talking about jewel cichlids, I wouldn't put a 5'' one in with 1'' severums... my 3'' jewel cichlids ripped apart my 6'' catfish type shark.. they are terrors and kill everything they can.

from Anamagus's profile...

2 4 inch Oscars, 10 inch Red Devil, 3 inch Red Devil, too many guppies to count (14 or so!) 5 Aquatic dwarf frogs and 2 exremely large goldfish.

hope youve got lots of big tanks.

i have since realized and taken all the gold severum out and put them with my Frogs temporarily. And My Jeweled is by herself in a 33, I am thinking that it is sad to have one fish in a tank we have 8 species specific tanks already! So you dont think I can put anything in with her? How about a male? And I also have to update my list! I have one five inch Pahrana in a 33, Also two Red Devils one is three inches in a33, the other is about ten inches and he lives in a 90,Two Tiger Oscars (Breeding) in another 90,Three one inch Convicts (Tank Lice), My Jeweled Her home is a 33, Six Gold Severums Currently in a 10 but I know that is cruel and there only maybe an inch in length, And my beloved African Dwarf Frogs of whitch I have five are living happily with them, I also have eighteen Guppies male and female that just had a whack of fry Guppies are in a 10 and the fry are in their own 10. Oh and I have Two pleco's one is regular and the other is a Clown Pleco

You should find new homes for your severums now.. they wont last more then a few days in a 10g tank... the waste alone must already be messing them up.

I don't know what you're planning on doing with the severums, but you don't have any room in any of the tanks to house them long term.. so I'd get rid of them all while they're still small.

I'd leave the jewel cichlid by itself.. it can live its life out in a 33g tank forever..

The main thing I'm worried about is all those severums.. the 1 red devil in a 33g tank isn't great either, as it will outgrow it soon enough...

not sure what you're planning on doing with all those fish, but you've definitely got too many.

I realize that the red devil is going to out grow his tank and we are fully prepared when he is big to spend another $1000. As for the severums they will not all last we only want one female out of six its just making sure we get one, and we are working on a 130 gallon home and breeding tank for severums. And our fish are perfectly healthy, Happy and not worring about more space. Midas(small red devil) loves his home, and julio (Jeweled) we just got a 50 gallon home for her it needs to be resealed, cleaned and loved then she can have it.

6 severums still in a 10g tank?

errr :(

I actually have a pair of breeding severums I might want to sell.. but I wouldn't sell them unless you actually had at least a 55g tank for them.

We have a 55 gallon tank we just dont know if its going to leak after it has been resealed we were actually starting that today! We are going to put the severums in there and then give the frog tank a good clean and take the filter off because they do not like it, I will do water changes often instead. Do you think that sounds good?
