Well I did it I got the rest of my kit today and have set up my marine tank. I did get a Tmc V2 skim 400 but got the pump was like a pond pump the main unit was like a nuclear chimney and then there was a bubble box? So I got my self a Deltec MC300 and im well impressed. I bought 2 maxi-jet 1200 power heads with wave machines to make sure I have no dead spots. I am also running my external with just a bit of biological media and carbon once the LR goes in ill be adding Rowaphos to it. Well here is a few pics of how im getting on, ill post more pics as it clears and ill be adding my LR next Saturday as the man in the fish shop said im am best off leaving the water in the tank to mix the salt for a good 5 days.

Its 40ukg. I mixed the salt in the tank last night this morning tank has cleared but I get different salinity readings from different areas of the tank is this because it takes a few days to mix fully???

also if oyur using a hydrometer it will only read properly when the tank water is at 25 dc

I found my problem you have to gie the needle a little tap other wise air bubble on the hydrometer raise it my salinity is 0.021 so I need to raise it a bit.

I have just got my salinity up to 0.024 Im now well chuffed thinking of changing my hydrometer for a refractometer what do you think??? Here is a couple of pics now its cleard do I need to now wait about 5 days before I add live rock???

Is this a good amout of foam in my skimmer???

I would get a refractometer, so much easier to work then hydrometers

Right well I added my LR today I think its looking good I also put my rowaphos in the filter. One thing though I have loads of fine bubbles in the water which if you turn all the equipment off disapear will these go after time its just cause everything is new

Funny thing on the rock is it a coral or coral shaped rock???

Now this funny rock my wife thinks is shaped like a bear but there is a stick next to it and is hard what that?

Also in the last few hours loads of these are appearing what are they and are they a good thing???
