I Almost Grew Two Feet

Then just call me Steph, Gab :p You know I don't care

Where did you read that? I don't see how it could get confused with blue xenia... It really looks NOTHING like it. polyps are short, and even the top part of the polyps don't have the same texture or structure.

ok then steph lol

yeah i was also confued with that because imo they look totally different but someone has it in their head that since it is a relative to xenia it could possibly be another species of it

or maybe its like everything else that it has a bunch of different common names and people get it conused that way idk

but that looks awesome just looked it up, is it easy to care for?

So, very unfortunately, I lost my rhomboid wrasse on monday... Really upset/bummed about it. Reason for death is unknown... and he was perfectly fine the night before. Undecided whether I will get another one, especially since the one we were holding for someone at my work, also died this week.

Anyways, must push on.

Got some things last night, namely hermit crabs. Got some zebras for the main tank and a couple scarlets for the sump to clean up some of the junk in there. Sump monster now has friends.

Also picked up a zoa rock that I couldn't resist... and added it to my zoa "garden". There was a sundial snail lurking on him that i found and plucked off, which led me to carefully observe the rock for 20 some minutes searching for anymore... Always dip your corals before adding to tank!! (Second picture: green zoas on top didn't photograph well :(, much brighter)

Speaking of Zoas... This little colony here only consisted of 4 polyps when I first added it.. It has exploded into 15+ Polyps! I have noticed EVERYTHING growing extremely fast with these lights...

Sympodium has "greened and blued" up

And dendro is once again on a splitting spree... He's now up to around 10 heads of different sizes, I originally bought him with only 2 heads.

I have some zoa's exactly like those orange ones. Have yours got a tiny rig of White dots around the mouth?

Sad to hear about the fishy.

no little dots on my zoas

Everyone doing ok...
Water stats yesterday:

pH: 8.1
dKH: 9
Density: 1.025
NitRATes: 0 ppm :)))
Phosphates: 0 ppm
Calcium: 500ppm

Been thinking about next fishy... not sure what I want to do. Really want another rhomboid but am kinda put off by them now..

Sorry about the fish :( That's always hard.

Your tank looks fabulous and I love all the color in it. Very beautiful.

My next tank is a 75g.

What a tough day for fish... Have been having power troubles and got them fixed this morning and then the city has a power outage haha. All back on now though....

Picture of sunny since he was out and about because the light was out.

Picked up a beautiful red monti tonight.... Frag from a local reefer. Mother colony must be huge as there were 4 more frags this size.

Thought it would be great to grow over sunny. I moved the purple/green monti to the left, to grow out and over that section. Red monti broke in two in transit :( put it back together as best as possible.

Sorry about the wrasse Nemo, the more colourful ones do seem to have suicidal tendencies

Seffie x

ps tank is looking great

Sorry to hear about the Rhomboid Nemo :( Tank is looking great as always well done :)

Im still amazed everytime I look at your tank. What do you dose/feed your corals? It blows me away. sorry for your loss but the tank is looking super, well done!

James

Thanks Guys :)

James... Nearly all of my corals are fed every other day, because that is when I feed the non-photo ones so I figure I might as well. The larger ones (sun, spiral, dendro, duncan, trumpet, acans, brains etc.) get a mixture of mysis, brine shrimp plus. The Smaller polyp ones (Chili, spiral, Gorgonians etc.) get a mixture of daphnia and nutramar ova.

Although I pretty much thought I wasn't going to be adding anymore SPS... Work got in a couple amazing looking acros which may find a home top right of the tank... Still debating. Also debating about two cute little Captive bred mandarins we have :)

Nemo the colours in your tank are fantastic

I wax lyrical every time I see your pics!! how do your zoas get so colourful!! and that chili amazing :good:

Leopard wrasse always hangs out with the clownfish now... She has actually started to swim in the coral with them?? Clownfish don't mind at all, even when they have eggs.
