How To Help A One Day Old Baby Cory Survive And Grow?

Yea, there is a very recent thread in here with some awesome quality close-ups of Panda fry eating. They cant handle whole mouthfuls of sand at less than about 4 weeks, so get the food off single grains at a time.

Im sure he's finding plenty when you're not lookin!

I hope so. Scary face through a magnifying glass ain't gonna help him find his food better I guess

I was trying to find the thread you are talking about. Can I get the link?

Pic heavy but worth a look for anyone that breeding, intentionally or not!

Thanks. I already looked at this thread the other day and those baby pandas look enormous compared to the albino fry I am trying to grow.

I do hope he/she survives, though it sounds like it's going to be hard work

Yeah. I don't have my hopes too high unfortunately. I've been reading a lot about them now and people do say they die easily even after a few weeks.
Only time will tell. My regret is that I don't have a proper mini tank where he'll have better chances.

Well I don't know what's more difficult, to hatch the eggs or raise the cory babies.
I removed almost 10 eggs gone to fungus although they turned brown so I am sure they were viable and if I have left one egg that will hatch I'll be lucky. I seriously need to change the tactics.
The cory baby is still alive and looking a bit more yellow now whether this is good or bad.

It's hard to know when you are not a cory yourself how a cory baby feels

The fry seems to have gone bonkers and is racing up and down the breeder box.
Anyone knows if this is normal or there is something I should worry about?

I've done two "water changes" this morning pushing the box up and down to get some new water in.

Here is a video, not very good quality as the breeder box is in the breeder net in case the fry decides to go through the holes by accident.

I think it's day 7 today since birth. The cory is very active and swimming all around it's little "world".
The previous batch of eggs all got fungus and are gone into the bin.
I woke up to another 7 eggs. This time I put them in a sandwitch box with an airstone and tank water. I'll see what comes out.

A short video of the cory. Sorry for the background noise. It's from a disturbing documentary how humans treat animals

Yup,. looks like he's loving it! Good luck with you;re new eggs.

Just a quick note; How are you moving the eggs? If you expose them to open air, they'll likely get fungus, pretty much 100% of the time. This might be why you're having to chuck them?

I tried not to, but who knows if I managed. I put them in a glass under the water and then poured the glass into the plastic box but I may have managed a bit of air while moving them
I'll find out soon I guess.

They might as well be bad eggs, but previously when the eggs got fungus that happened before they turned brown, probably on the second day. The last time they were nearly hatching colour when they got fungus.
Even if these hatch, I am afraid I have no where to put them to grow up. And the box isn't heated because a heater won't fit although the temp shouldn't go lower than 20 degrees in a heated room I hope.
Maybe I could by a bigger plastic box and set it up with a heater and a sponge filter? Would that work until they grow beyond snack size?
