Hi-Fin Bronze Cory.

Ok well they were either laid last night or while i was at school but the guppies took no interest at all. There are at least more than 20 eggs. I'm just so happy because i didn't think it was possible i had a male and female but i obviously do! I only have 2 adults so far and if (and i stress the word if because i ain't counting on anything) Some babies survive to juvi stage they could go in with my adults instead of buying more.

wow fab news misscosmo :good:

Good luck with the eggs,i always hatch mine in a catching net over an airstone, this works everytime :)

Hopefully you'll have little cory fry in around 4 days :),you might be better getting a breeding net, they're about £4 from pets at home,if and when the fry hatch, they're so tiny they may well get through the little slits on the side of the trap and end up in the main tank...
Also be prepared to get some first bites powder food or liquidfry 1,unless you can ground flakes up into powder. :)

Ok will get right onto getting the breeding net. Trust me the flakes that i had ready for the guppy fry have be pounded and rolled with a rolling pin so they are now powder. The eggs are a creamy colour is this good? I think it may be the corys first time so i don't know if they will be fertile or not and i need to know what colour they should be anyway. There is at least 30-40 eggs they are hard to count. It's a big batch.

I just got another small very bad quality video as thats all i can get with my corys atm.

Video.

I have named them after my neighbors kids as my neighbore has a son called corey.
So they are chloe and corey.
You can't really see it in that video but, the shorter finned 1 is quite fat and the other isn't so i'm guessing the fat 1 is the female and that shes pregnant again. Their behaviour is as follows atm:

Corey follows chloe everywhere "she" goes and if any fish tries to get close to "her" corey chases them off then goes back to sitting very close to chloe.
Is this because they have gone together and he is looking after her?

Bump.

Any ideas on what is going on with my corys?

Well i think the corys actually spawned on tuesday night! The eggs have hatched today! I have at least 20-30 fry from the corys and i hope some of them make it to adulthood or at least juvi so they can go in with my adults.

Congrats :good:

Good luck with the babies.

Yeah getting pics atm is kind of impossible. Gonna have to wait for pics but the fry look like tiny ickle bickle tadpoles.

Well my corys have spawned again! It's abit early isn't it? So could i have 2 females? Only 1 has ever been abit fatter and the thinner 1 chases the fatter 1 but never in an aggressive way.

The fatter one is probably the female, thinner one a male, you wouldn't have fry if they were 2 females :)

I don't know what i have in my tank that gets them to breed readily but it's gotta be something. I have the tank like this:

Real rocks from a nearby stream.
Temp-26-28.
PH-6.4.
Nitrate-20.
nitrite-0
Ammonia-0
Sand.
Real plants.
Fluval 2 plus filter.
50watt heater.
Treasure chest ornament (thought i don't know why this has anything to do with it).
That's it!
