hi, im after making a L-shaped tank, i dont want to drill the glass to start/finish the cut, is there any way i can cut the glass with out having to do this........

(i work in a glaziers shop, so i have plenty of glass)........ :p

cheers ste

Without drilling, it's virtually impossible to cut at right-angles. A simpler way is to use 4 pieces for the base, with the top 2 pieces cut so that they overlap the join in the bottom 2. This is quite a common way of making "L" shaped tanks in the UK.

As windsor-aquatic above,(he knows what he is talking about) impossible and it would be weak. Ideally you could have it milled by CNC machine but this is too costly. I would also advise (if and when you get the glass cut) to have it toughened.
Check out double glazers who frequent your shop and see if they can help. I work in a factory supplying the D/G trade and we would do favours for custormers on a regular basis.

You can score the right angle shape and then put lots of scores in to the centre of the angle and then gently tap the glass to split the glass into the angle and then remove the slices one by one until you can take the last bits out...
