George's Journal

That java fern is HUGE. How does it get that big and not have the old leaves die off? I'm very impressed with the nice contrast between the plants and the background. The tank looks very clear too, no signs of any cloudiness

As usual... Top Notch! I'm amazed at how quickly the glosso took off. Maybe it has been longer than I think, but still.

I think the name suits it perfectly.

Keep up the amazing work!

A fantastic job as usual, i think i still favor it with out the glosso, but that's just me.

Although i have to admit it looks pretty good now its filled out, i hope my tank turns out half as good as your.

looks awesome mate, no more anubias needed. they do grow you know!! should fill out nicely i a few months.

i've just pruned my anubias in the rekord 60. there were 4 prunable chunks with 4 leaves on each growing under the javafern out of view. neeless to say they got the chop and are now in the cube (late night again!)

leave it be

on second thoughts (sorry) looking at the tank pic theres just one bit that doesn't look right, the shadow on the left side just above the sag. it may look better with the left sag removed and replaced with more anubias then allow the glosso to grow right up to it. the shaddow should suit the anubias fine and will fill that gap completely in about 3 months i'd say. you'd then have a belt of anubias seperating the glosso from the java fern with the field of sag at the right side. that would look even better IMO. what do you think?

It get's so big and healthy looking because I have the ideal quantities of light and nutrients, and more importantly these vital constituants are in an equilibrium with ALL my plants requirements. Any ugly leaves are removed weekly.

George your tank looks ace mate! Well impressed :D
Thanks, yours isn't so bad either my friend.

Thanks Jen. All the best for the re-aquascaping of your 90. If only I had that much volume to play with!

Thanks Simon. Each to their own, if everybody had the same taste then life would be pretty dull eh?

...tank looks beautiful, gf, good work. I like the name too! TFF's very own Amano... :) I have a lot of work to do
To be compared to Amano is an honour for me so thank you. This tank would still be a Dutch style layout if I hadn't seen his work and others influenced by it.

Jimbooo - Nice idea with the extra Anubias but I like the sag to the left. I agree with the dark patch though, it's probably the weakest aspect at the moment. We'll see.

Looks great, full of health and realy intense greens. I've just read through your whole journal briefly - realy good looking at how its built up over all this time, this is the more "natural" layout of them all I think.

Good luck for your contest entry

Not to be stupid, but I love how you have that empty space on the top right. Give the fish some space to swim away from that huge java fern. But that's only cause I love the plants too much I need something else to like :D

You're all probably fed up with seeing constant updates but I'm really happy with the progress (minor though it is). I've moved the Crinum slightly.

Just stunning ! and the crinium looks much better now ;)
It's so ultra green I almost need B) lol and the cardinals are shoaling beautifully
(a couple of them are slightly out of sync, but we'll forgive them).
