Fluval Spec Work In Progress

apparently, there was a about a 3 months window last years where flame reds were being sent out from the far east rather than Cherries.

it's quite possible, the ones i got from MA turned out to be flame reds.

My MA ordered in flame reds too, i wanted Cherries and wasnt going to pay £4.50 for a poxy flame red. So i got some off Steve.

im not sure if your army is getting eaten , i've not seen a few of them in a while, the couple of bigger ones show their faces quite a bit though lol.

I thought I'd lost a couple the other day but they have now been spotted climbing in grill at the top of the tank onto the sponge then squeezing down the side of it.

It's going well cheers mate, still loads of new growth appearing on the Crypts, I need to order myself a pair of scissors soon so I can give the moss a trim.

Evening all

Just a small update, my HC from Steve arrived today (cheers mate :good: ) so I have put it in the tank, I'm not sure if I've planted it correctly I just sort of pushed it onto the gravel I seem to have a lot of roots visible on top (I don't think it's upside down :blush: )

Here's a couple of quick phone pics;

Looks ok to me mate, prob got a little tangled in the post, should have given the tips of the roots a trim but it looks tidy to me.

Coming along nicely btw mate. :good:

Just wanted to check, are you dosing carbon and ferts?

Cheers mate.

Still using the JBL moss fertiliser atm, I'm going to get something better soon and hopefully I can pick some liquid carbon up this weekend.

Good good, hc won't move a ml without some carbon

Ok mate, any recommendations for the carbon or are they all much the same?

Aqua essentials carbon is cheapest and strongest :good:

Sounds good maybe I'll order some of that, I'm guessing it's fine for shrimp?
