Equipment - What Is It And Where Does It Go?

how do i know which is the pure and which is the waste? can i just plump this in under my sink or does it have to be high up or? its just three 'bottles' with tubes and stuff on them....

yes, can plumb straight into a cold water mains pipe or a washing machine feed with a y connector.

You will soon know which is the waste, it will pump out about 4 x as much as the pure

Well I was going to try and help as finally at my computer (was on my phone earlier) but seffie is such a know it all :p haha! only kidding!

Well, Weeza, Katie is looking for a Buddy...............any ideas :p ?

there is a pic of the ro unit a few posts back. just tried it out and yeah one pumps out fast, one dribbles out. what exactly is the ro unit for? does that purify tap water or something?
have three big barrels to make water in.....so thats not a problem :)

Yeah a RO unit purifies the water and takes out all the impurities.

Can we see a photo of the whole tank please.

Yep! Tap water goes in. RO water comes out. Once you have enough for a reasonable water change get some salt mixed with it with heat and flow and do a wc.

Before you add salt to the RO. Use your refractometer on the RO water to calibrate it. If you get a reading of zero then it's calibrated.

Mix salt with RO until you achieve a sg of 1.025. Check the tank water sg first though to see if it is the same as adding a higher/lower sg amount of salt water can shock the fish in the tank.

Speaking of the tank, how about some pics of it all?

sorry how rude of me....just uploading some tank pics..sorry its a bit murky and dirty though....the clean up will come once the tank has stablised :)

Fish you have are
2 clown fish
1 yellow tail blue damsel
and a coral beauty angle fish

And the third pic down you should use gloves when handling as they are poisonous :)

I'm buddying someone already but if no one else is free I'm happy to take on a second. :)
