Dyed and Hybrid Fish..what we all should know

Injecting fish with dye?!!! I didnt even no you could do that to a fish before I read this thread... That is an awful, cruel, nasty wicked thing to do!!
I cant understand why people think they have this right to mess with nature, I dont no what else to say, I really am shocked,or maybe just lead a very sheltered life,.. I sure wont be buying any fish listed that are known 'modified' coloured fish... Why cant people just leave nature/animals etc be!!

I have a S-fighter,He's a beauty,All diff coloured purples and lilacs,I'm wondering if he's been dyed? What do you think??......Hope not :/

When my Old English Sheep Dog had her 1st lot of Pups one bloke wanted me to get the puppy he WAS gonna have from me tail docked, I told him if he ever so much looked at her tail again I'd cut his D**k off!
Needless to say he DIDNT get a puppy from me.(They werent even full-breed OESD anyways,Crossed with my Golden Retriver)

So many fish are inbreed, btw. Even in the wild. And alot of animals. And even some people. I dont see how being inbreed is really so bad in fish, if others, like the Amish, can be inbreed and be fine.
Eh?? Inbreeding is good/fine - since when? Some articles maybe?

 Inbreeding is awful. And also, have you seen the difference in the swimming of a fancy betta and a plakat? I have, and i'll tell you that the plakat swims much more easily.

P.T.

Heya
It's horrible isn't it ? :( However I think you're safe with the siamese fighter, as far as I know they have been selectively bred to promote bright colours, but not artificially dyed. :)

well thats what you think. If the fish can swim with the big fins and lives long then there really is no problem. So many fish are inbreed, btw. Even in the wild. And alot of animals. And even some people. I dont see how being inbreed is really so bad in fish, if others, like the Amish, can be inbreed and be fine.
Species evolve to be perfectly adapted to their environment. If long finnage was an adaptive feature, it would be present in wild fish. It's not, so it isn't.

Please give some examples of highly inbred animals (in the wild)/people who are in every way equal to their non-inbred equivalents.

I thought it was funny he mentioned the Amish being inbred. Sure they're backwards and primitive, but by choice. They aren't inbred really though.

The hole thing is absolutley terrible, here in the UK bannings with fish dyeing are starting to work wich is some good news  which shows it can be done, but i wont stop untill it is completly illegal.. even then i dont think they will stop though :-(

animals in the wild are inbreed. We all know that. Like cats as well. And cocker spanile. Ha! theres one, lol. Those dogs are extremily inbreed. Especially the mean ones. It gives the rage syndrom etc. And I read a book about Amish people in school I think it was, and it said that all amish people were related to eachother. dont know what it was though.

Yes, because cocker spaniels are wild animals  Pedigree dogs suffer from health problems because humans made them that way. Please give some grounds for "all wild animals" being inbred. I have never heard any grounds for such a thing.

In fact, young gorillas "leave home" i.e. the younger generation, when old enough to fend for themselves, leave their original family/social group for the express purpose of avoiding inbreeding

Studies have shown that humans are extremely unlikely to pair up with a mate who they spent significant time with before they were aged 6, in order to avoid inbreeding.

did you know that the fish will inbreed them selves even if they arent made to?

first off before you start looking for your soap box, lets make this statement that since you like to read books so much it might be wise of you to look up the difference in line breeding and hybirdization.

secondly, and I will state this for the hundredth time that the compairison of fish and dogs is like compairing apples and oranges two totally different things that have nothing in common, you might as well be saying that we ( humans ) are the result of a hybirization between a gorillia and a chimp, while it is true that we share about 97% of our genes with chimps we aren't about to say that humans are hybirds, or that even asian people are hybirds of african people since it is widly accepted that africa is the home of humand EVOLUTION!!!! and yet over the many years humans have adapted themselves to suit their enviroment.

third, anybody that knows me well knows that I am very against hybirdization of fish with cichlids spicifically, but the argument that you are turning out is pure rubbish.

whatever. everyone has their own opinions. i have mine and your yours. leave it at that.

proof, proof, proof! are you just making this stuff up off the top of your head or does it come from somewhere reliable? cos at the moment it looks like the former. I appreciate the fact that you're entitled to your own opinion, it's just that you're opinion is based on illogical assumptions and misunderstandings of, well, pretty much everything.

Opinions are one thing, facts are quite another. Facts are, under normal circumstances, animals don't interbreed. They disperse and move apart enough to minimalize the problem.
