I'm still wanting the DP but if I see a really nice Betta then I will get that instead

Still no news on the DP Going in tomorrow to hopefully get some crypts and I'll ask if they have heard anything.
 
Danios are back in this tank, keeping it cycled while I'm going to redo their tank, in preparation of getting a Betta
 
I have one question though, how can I tell if some driftwood I found is safe?
Collected some Saturday and there is one piece that I really like but I'm not sure if it is safe
Any help would be greatly appreciated

I think the wood is safe so I've plopped it in the tank.
 
I've been thinking long and hard about not getting a DP, but instead getting a Betta.
I think I will get a Betta, then when I rehome the Danios I will get a DP.
Saw a nice one yesterday, he was marbled. Didn't get to see his tail type though. I've ordered some food (Omega One) and when it arrives, I'll go back to the LFS and if the Betta is there, I'll get it If its not, then I will wait for the DP or till another nice Betta comes

Sounds like a plan to me! Are you going to attach anything to the wood?

Once it is water logged, I'll attach an Anubia and maybe a Java Fern.
 
I've got a coconut that I'm going to make into a DIY cave, I'll post pics once I'm finished.

Are you holding it down in the bucket with anything? I imagine that would help it get water logged faster but not 100% sure.
Can't wait to see the coconut cave!

Its in the tank now, I don't have anything holding it down, though I do have it stuck against the side of the tank, which is keeping it down.
 
Done the coconut cave, all I need to do now is finish sanding it, put the door in a pour boiling water over it.

Wow, if that was me, I would be ringing the store and asking them to reserve him for me

I was tempted to, but the lady that runs the fish department wasn't there, so I thought I would chance it, I've seen him there several times so I'm fairly confident he will still be there
 
The Betta food just arrived about 5 minutes ago, will be going either tomorrow or Saturday to pick the guy up

No fishy updates today, a storm is passing overhead and has flooded the bridge near the LFS, will have to wait until tomorrow to go
