Danny's Cycle...

Sounds better if you have another tank!

Now your only problem will come in a few months time when they starting breeding and each female releasing 25+ fry at a time - that's the bit I'm trying to find more info on, I'm hoping if I leave the fry they will get eaten.

Good Luck with it!

That's a point... What If I put all the fry in the tank. Sounds quite horrible, but if some get eaten then I won't have so much of a problem...

But then I may as well not buy so many... lol.

Hmmm. Not sure what to do now!

personally I'd wait a while, give your current tank a few weeks to settle with the two guppies, then add in your other filter and let that run alongside your normal filter for 4 weeks, then get some fish for the other tank.

Are you only having guppies?

I think I have a Guppy obsession haha!

But no I wasn't intending to have two tanks of Guppies...

Want a Betta in the other tank so that won't go down well lol...

May just get 10 now you have spoke to me about it... that way I can afford to lose some and have a good amount for my tank...

Hey, if you are buying 10 then the price will have to go up to 50p each [massive increase :p] Also, I will still include a black fry in the 10, if you order 10 or 20.

P.S Water results?

*Updated*

How long will this go one for? :(
I'm sorry Danny, I don't mean to be dense but remind me again if there's something wrong with your tap water stats? I'm just forgetting because of the many different tanks and threads going currently. I'm forgetting why you would be only changing 50% with a nitrite(NO2) reading of 1.0ppm?

My water supply test for Nitrites come in at 0ppm

I have been doing many water changes to bring this down.

I have got it down from 2.0ppm within a week... I just need it to get to 0ppm FAST! lol

OK, lets get more detailed. When someone like me asks you something about your "tap water" it doesn't mean we want just that one stat, it means we want the whole thing, lol.

You need to always respond with the whole bit, tap water ammonia, nitrite, pH, nitrate levels.

If you have pretty good tap water stats, then you are just shooting yourself in the foot by only doing a 50% water change (although I know I may be missing something here as I remember you've had more complications.) Why not do a 75%?

Opps sorry haha.

Water results from main supply

Ammonia: 0ppm
NitrIte: 0ppm
NitrAte: 20-40 (Can't tell)
PH: 7.4

So you reckon a bigger water change would sort this Nitrite Problem out?

Ive done so many in the last few days but only 50% ... so all this time ive been doing it wrong? :(
