But then you have the question of masks even being effective.

There were some studies that showed masks do just about nothing. I believe Fauci even said that before the pandemic.

I believe that this virus is being used as a tool for something else.

but I think that if someone isn’t willing to be vaccinated they should either wear a mask or stay home

If someone has a cold or the flu they don't mandate that you stay home or wear a mask. They leave that for the person to decide.

Cancer is also contagious but they don't make them stay home.

there have been studies that show that cancer cells shed off of people with cancer. That in turn can get picked up by other people.

Cancer is a germ.

This is not a mainstream view but there is evidence in support of it.

If someone has a cold or the flu they don't mandate that you stay home or wear a mask. They leave that for the person to decide.

They should mandate it and enforce it.

I have been complaining about sick staff at shops for decades and nobody cared. Then they all wonder why the staff are sick, why the customers are sick, and why the cold and flu viruses spread around the world continuously. If people stayed home when sick, they wouldn't spread it and we could get rid of it. Instead they go to work, school and visiting friends while sick and help the virus spread. But people are stupid and simply don't care.

Update from Western Australia.

We have covid19 appearing all over the southern half of the state and people are meant to be staying home if sick and nobody is meant to be out in public without a face mask on. Last night a neighbour came over and knocked on the door asking if I had any Panadol (paracetamol). I don't know if they had a head or fever but I didn't have any so couldn't help. But they weren't wearing a mask.

I have issues with this new place I am living in and air from outside is leaking in through the reverse cycle air-conditioner. The air con unit is off but I can smell cigarette smoke and diesel fumes, as well as other smoke and fumes coming into the unit. I have contacted the real estate agent but they aren't doing anything. I could well catch covid19 from a neighbour who is smoking. The virus can travel on smoke.

I was at the hardware the night before and lots of customers and even one staff member wasn't wearing a mask.

Topping this all off, the state government and Health Department aren't telling us what strain of covid19 we have here. I have been asking if it's Delta or Omicron but nobody wants to say what it is. The rate at which this is spreading here and the government's unwillingness to say what strain it is, leads me to believe it is Omicron.
Why aren't they willing to tell us what strain it is?

Tasmanian Tigers are struggling with a contagious cancer. There's two independent transmissible cancers known as devil facial tumour 1 (DFT1) and devil facial tumour 2 (DFT2). Both cancers are spread by biting and cause the appearance of tumours on the face or inside the mouth of affected Tasmanian devils. Haven't heard about it being contagious for other species though.

When worn correctly, masks have been scientifically tested and considered effective. If there wasn’t scientific evidence backing it, I don’t think that they would have been worn in hospitals before the pandemic even started.

There are scientific studies that "prove" both sides.

If you look at the % of people who die from the flu vs COVID you should see a significant difference.

The problem is that there is not really a big difference.

If you truly want to stop a virus you should make everyone wear p100 masks. Cloth masks(which are the recommended mask) do absolutely nothing.

Wearing a mask can do you more harm than good.

I have had the virus 3 times , as have many of my friends and family ( we were all tested) . We are all vaccinated and boosted. We all wear masks and are very careful , it doesn't matter ! My personal feelings on this matter are that it will just have to run it's course. I do not believe in Mandates and closures , all businesses and our economies are suffering. My husband is not vaccinated and has never gotten sick !
I work in a food manufacturing company with very strict cleanliness rules , several of us have had bacterial lung infections from wearing mask 12 hrs + every day , even though we are allowed to get a fresh mask every hour .Mask do more harm than good ! Again this is my personal feeling on the matter , we are each allowed to do what we feel is best.

Masked or unmasked...we just have to get used to the lurgy and live with it.

What makes me laugh though are those who complain about having to wear a mask, yet every winter they walk around with 30 miles of woolly scarf wrapped around their face.....what exactly is the difference?
