Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

And as it says, he wouldn't accept it, he also has a ton of baggage most people wouldn't want associated with Captain America

Long story short I am here, and I actually like it a ton better than fishlore. ;) And know what NOT to do. Anyhow, the disappointment of Bucky not being Captain is not so acute, because hes getting his own TV show with Sam Wilson, so I'm not super sad about it now. Although he would have looked awesome toting the shield
OK ! This got my attention. What's going on with Cap ? I have been reading Captain America since the 60's, long before these Johnny Come Lately fans discovered him in movies. Bucky died in the North Atlantic nearly 80 years ago. Rick Jones tried to take his place and Sam Wilson The Falcon is GREAT ! We all know that nothing is static in the Marvel Universe ( ask any Spidey fan) but what is going on ! I let myself get out of the loop with Mr. Rogers. No, not the neighborhood guy.
OK , read the link in post # 228. Interjecting Bucky (Winter Soldier) isn't cool with me. But that's the breaks. Star Trek and The Marvel Universe have way too many alternate timelines. Me? I'm permanently stuck in the one where Bucky died. But I did like the Heroes Reborn comic series in the 90's where Cap lost his shield, it broke and then miraculously reassembled itself. Avengers ! Assemble ! 'nuff said.

And I was looking forward to prime minister questions as well... Bet that'll get cancelled with them all shoulder to shoulder!

"The MP first showed symptoms on Thursday - the same day she attended a Downing Street event hosted by Boris Johnson to mark International Women's Day, according to a health department spokesman."

Well I just seen the first signs of panic buying in waitrose, lots of empty space on the bog roll, cold and flu and pain killer shelves...

World Heath Organization declares CV19 to be a pandemic. It probably should have been declared a few weeks ago but they are now calling it a pandemic. Expect more large gatherings to be cancelled. It is already affecting many schools which will now or soon be holding online classes instead of in-school classes. MIT and Harvard are asking students to leave the dormitories and many classes will now be held online. Sporting events may soon be affected. Do your part to limit the risk to yourselves and others by following advice from the CDC and WHO.
Stay safe.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is closing which is HUGE! More info after Mayor Sylvester Turner comes in in a few minutes. Never closed in 80 years. My grandkids are showing livestock that they have raised for over a year for this event. One vendor said he is losing $300,000.00 with no insurance. More to come...

Houston will be closing all permitted city and public events through March. The Rodeo closes at 4 PM today. This is huge for the economy as a whole and individuals.

On the news today, the WA government has set up flu inspection stations at the major hospitals in Perth. Apparently thousands of people have shown up with flu like symptoms and all are being tested for the corona virus. Test results are expected in 48 hours.

We have the Mandurah Crab Festival on this weekend. Tens of thousands of people are expected to come down here and they could bring it here.

Today at my local supermarket a person sneezed in one of the isles. I yelled out "stay at home if your sick". Then when I was walking home I passed a grotty snotty nosed teenager that sneezed. I should have walked on the opposite side of the road. I don't wanna get sick. :(

Golden State Warriors basketball team to play game against Brooklyn Nets without fans....that is unprecedented.

Sporting events without spectators isn't too bad because they can have cameras everywhere and people just watch it live on TV or online. It's safer for everyone then because there are no spectators to spread the virus to each other or to the players, and everyone can watch it in the safety of their own home.

But the revenues of the teams drop , the work force for the stadium including vendors and security do not work and may lose wages, ... the local economy loses out as nearby restaurants who would cater to pre-game and post-game diners who would have gone to the game lose income.

This is what I expect. It won't be long and we'll be turning on each other. I am so glad to be retired. Me and She Who Must Be Obeyed can stay home. We can even order from Wal-Mart online and then go pick it up without going into the store.

well...if I run out of food, I can always eat my fish. :D

I order most things including groceries online. Groceries are delivered to my kitchen table.

Maybe it's time to start growing our own vegetables and maybe getting a few chickens.
