Coronavirus...post your thoughts here...

Vaccines in the UK have not contained mercury (thiomersal) since 2005. But some are cultured in egg or gelatine so if you are allergic to those you could have an allergic reaction.

I hate to be judgemental, but as a Registered Nurse, anyone who does not take vaccines is a fool. They are safe and prevent deaths and deformities. I’ve had polio vaccine, tetanus, TB, shingles, pneumonia, and flu vaccines. There is no proof that any of these vaccines are harmful to children. Parents who choose not to vaccinate their children jeopardize the lives of the rest of ours. Flu vaccines are no longer made with eggs so that’s no longer an excuse. Everyone, unless health conditions prevent it, should be vaccinized.

The one you mention that I've not had is shingles, but I will be eligible for it when I turn 70. Having had shingles 5 years ago, I don't want it again!

I’ve had it too and no fun. We can get it at 60 here.

If they did manage to develop a vaccine against the corona virus, I'd definitely have it.

Me too! There is a small company here in Houston claiming to have one that could be ready in a few months after testing on animals. We shall see. Everyone will take it at first but then will get non-compliant just as they do with the flu.

Well I wonder if they make a vaccine do they expect everyone to get it?? Id probably want to get it to avoid the virus spreading to the elderly relatives. Mind you I don't fancy taking a newly designed vaccine which would have no track record of safety.
There is a vaccine being tested here in Seattle and they are looking for volunteers.i know I wouldn't want to volunteer for an untested vaccine. Yikers!

If you were an older person with other health issues and the area had lots of people coming down with it, you may well think that the risk of an untested vaccine outweighed the risk of catching the virus.

I think we should stay on topic rather than getting into a fight over the ethics of vaccines. The topic is Coronavirus

Hi,
I don't want to sound rude however I find your comment uncanny, if the whole topic is about a nasty viral disease killing the weak or causing significant distress to the healthy as per my earlier post about the Dr in Italy, then surely the cure is of equal importance to the discussion?

Omg is this like the Plague??
Pretty much lol. Italy has #2 healthcare in the world and they are so over run that they wont even assess people over 50 or younger with health problems. If you go into cardiac arrest or lung failure they have to just let you die to make more beds. The whole count is locked down. They graduated all nursing students early too.

Are you sure, I don't think Italy comes across as a world class economy.
