Slightly relaxed rules in the UK announced:
However I believe this still means I can't go for a haircut not even from my Aunty :-(

The government's guidance is now:

  • Stay at home as much as possible
  • Work at home if you can
  • Limit contact with other people
  • Keep your distance if you go out (2 metres apart where possible)
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • If you or anyone in your household has symptoms, you all need to self-isolate
Rules and regulations for the uk to me are a bit sick...you have to do the rules above but he's allowing places back open, either i'm going daft or the government

It's the government.

We still have 7 active cases of covid19 here in WA but the government is letting people socialise again and is opening everything back up. It's just stupid. The country and states should remain locked down for at least a month after there have been no cases. They shouldn't be opening it back up when there are still active cases.

Over east in Victoria there is a new outbreak that started a week ago in a meat factory. There could be thousands of new cases there and in other states because of that.

As a British member I'm still trying to wrap my head around certain things. I expect a lot of us saw the videos of the horrifying scenes of the scenes as hospital systems of countries such as Italy collapsed. Our hospital system didn't collapse, its an achievement to be marvelled at for sure. Why is it though we have significantly the highest death rate per million across Europe. Its appalling the way we have been misled. Not Tory bashing. My initial worry is we have seemingly abandoned certain sectors of our society but I am extremely open to being wrong, in fact I've never wanted to be wrong so much in my life.

There are rumours that Europe and America got a more aggressive strain compared to Australia and China. There is also evidence showing people of African origin (including African Americans) are more susceptible to dying from the virus.

Yeah I've seen the stuff about ethnicity that's the first I've heard of them rumours though but it'd make sense. I know they've documented thirty three mutations of it so far, i dont know how significant that is in reality, its not a subject I know enough about, but I know thirty three documented mutations doesn't sound great.

This has been discussed in the news quite a few times, it is because we didn't close the borders up soon enough.

I've seen it on the news. I've seen several of the reasons being given. There's a lot of conflicting information right now which given the circumstances is to be expected. Most likely in that sense this is gonna continue to unfold for years. No doubt sooner or later netflix will come along and blow the lid off it in some ridiculous manner none of us expect via a documentary in a few years.

Well, viruses come along and cause problems every now and then, look at HIV, the sad thing about that was some governments didn't want to touch the issue because it was considered a first a gay mans issue and homosexuality was subject to homophobia back then.

There are thousands of viruses that live on and in all multi-celled organisms on the planets including people, birds, reptiles, fish, animals and plants. Most viruses are harmless or even beneficial because they hunt and eat bacteria. Some viruses are bad and make the animals sick.

When a virus jumps species like covid19 has, it usually mutates a lot as it changes/ spreads from host to host. Eventually after a period of time, the virus stops mutating as much and you end up with a single major strain of the virus and a few minor strains of it floating around.

Currently covid19 is at the start of its new life and is still hopping back and forth to different species and mutating as it goes. This could continue for another few months or more likely, another year or more before the virus settles down. During that time the virus could mutate thousands of times and affect all major life on Earth. Hopefully it won't do that but it could if it continues to jump from people to animal and back again.

Most virus cells can live for a couple of days to a couple of weeks. This means they have a very short life cycle and can easily mutate in a short period of time (1-2 generations). This means the individual virus could mutate once every couple of weeks. If you multiply that by the number of infected people, you have billions of virus cells in millions of people and each virus cell can mutate while it's in each person. Over the course of a year, the virus could potentially mutate into hundreds or even thousands of different strains.

Clarified no hair cuts in the salon until the 4th July (why 4th????) that's going to get the conspiracy theorists hot and bothered.

Sadly it doesn't say if we can meet family properly because my aunt is a hair dresser.

I may try cutting my hair myself

I've been cutting my own hair for years, it's easy. And when I stuff it up, I just shave my head :)
